DC Inverter Aircon Thread (Aircon roundup and FAQ on page 1)

1 year and 2 month old pa lang.

  • Hello good day po mga master. I did a few searches sa facebook and google and I found out na pag ito ang sira kalimitan palit board na talaga. I've also read how expensive replacement boards are. Now, gusto ko lang malaman kung may nakaexperience nang marepair ang board at umayos din before ako mag decide bumili ng bago. Eyeing for AUX and Daikin brands btw.

  • ^Yes mahal piyesa ng Panasonic inverter. Outdoor pcb din nadale sakin 2 yrs ago. 2hp variant cost is 17.2k parts+labor. 1/3 cost of bnew unit na yun plus my unit's already abt 6 yr old that time nearing obsolescence when parts will no longer be made available. So bumili na lang ako bnew Daikin, equal quality with Panasonic but more affordable parts.

    You may want to try JDL Electronics see if they can still fix your pana pcb. If you're a risk taker, meron din nagbebenta ng Pana parts sa FB. I think they sell it for about 35% cheaper. There's one member here, @celine who successfully purchased pcb from there that worked with her unit.
  • @musicgeek

    Salamat sa input, master. I was in touch with Sir Ehmo din this month and told him what happenend with my ac and ganon din ang suggestion niya. Palit board na daw talaga. Damn I will miss this AC. 500 pesos lang nabawas sa monthly bill namin mula nung nasira siya. The quality and efficiency is indeed top notch. Almost 5 years din siya sakin. Daikin and AUX brands, although not as great as Panasonic in terms of features, they are indeed promising. Mura lang kaya spare parts ng mga iyan as when I bought my Panasonic, hindi ko ito naconsider since this was my first AC.

  • ^This is the post of @celine in our old thread highlighting the fact that Panasonic's (split type) inverter parts are expensive compared with other brands to the point that she resorted to acquire from unauthorized dealer. Sila Panasonic na yata pinakamahal na parts. In the same post, her technician quoted Daikin's pcb to be a fraction of the cost.

    just to give you an idea, nasira ang board ng outdoor unit panasonic split type inverter aircon ko (1.5hp, 2 to 3 yrd old) and ang cost ng board is 12500. Kapapalit lng kahapon. Ang sabi ng technician, mas mahal daw ang cost ng spareparts ng panasonic as compared with other brands. Yong daikin daw 6500 lng cost ng board. What i did was bumili ako ng panasonic board thru fb group 7500 lng kuha ko. Brand new panasonic board daw yon. I was hesitant at first kasi baka maloko ako.

    My post about AUX is in the other thread <click here for link> . Beneath that post is @frequenzy 's feedback about the AUX he owns.

Normally something sa power supply breaks and ends up damaging the programmable IPM chip in the process. While finding a suitable programmable chip is actually possible, getting ahold of the program itself is not so easy. The manufacturer would rather sell another aircon PCB than give away their unit's program.

    To say that mahal ang PCB ng Panasonic aircon is an understatement. Musicgeek has provided some solid options naman. But the only recourse left is to buy that pricey PCB, then you might want to start digging into your funds as it will surely burn a hole in your pocket..
So nandyan din yung risk that you replace the PCB now and come next service repair needs nyan wala ka na mabibili parts considering your AC's a bit old na din. Another option that I looked at then was to buy a second hand similar Panasonic model at kakahuyin na lang yung PCB parts. I saw one sa Carousell 5k lang but eventually dumped the idea with the hassle and all.

    Taking both the good and the bad with a delicate inverter AC, nakatipid at nabawi na naman sa electric bills savings more than enough to buy a new unit. No need to stress ourselves with repairs uncertainties.

    @nokia6100

    Good to hear naayos na din termites concern mo. That's why I like dealing with R&J, hindi yan makwenta't mabait may ari pati mga tauhan nila.
  • Good day mga master. I was in touch with R. Acosta Enterprises (authorized service center ni Panasonic) and told me over the phone na 7500 ang board ng unit ko. Any thoughts on this?

  • 7500 ang board ng unit ko.

    Super cheap!

    If you watch JDL repair videos in YT you would know that this is more often the case. Hindi naman kasi basta masisira ang pcb ng Panasonic without something else contributing to its demise. This is good that they are not taking any chances and would rather be sure that walang ibang sira. Imagine them slapping on a new 7.5k pcb only for it to break prematurely because they failed to check everything else.. Meron ganun case sa isang JDL repair vid wherein the customer ended up buying 2 control pcb simply because the original technicians failed to check the power board which made everything worse.
  • @toyasyx

    It seems mura na yan PCB but ilan HP pala unit mo and the P7500 is inclusive of labor na ba? My defunct 2HP Panasonic pcb costs P15,700 + P1,500 labor while 1.5HP yung kay @celine which is P12,500 I guess excluding labor yun.
  • @Godai

    That makes sense. Not sure nga rin kung 2-part na ito since masyadong mura ang 7500. Will clarify with kuya technician tomorrow pagdating niya. Kinatatakot ko e baka maging 15k nga kung yung 2-part board ang papalitan. Or even more kung may iba pang sira. In which case, pag halos bagong AC na ang presyo ng replacement parts + labor, baka bagong ac na talaga.

    @musicgeek

    1 hp lang ito. I was even quoted 7200 by someone from muntinlupa but not worth the 300 peso difference since qc ako. From R. Acosta, exclusive of labor pa siya and walang 3 month warranty if hindi sila ang magkabit. They even told me na meron pang 8 pieces of outdoor board for the same model kay Panasonic nung inupdate ako which I find unnecessary but good to know.

  • There you go... proportional yan price ng Pana parts with unit's capacity. Afaik, iisa lang pcb / main electronic module ng Pana outdoor unit at least on my 2013 model unit. Anyway, just watchout for the dealer's arrangement like if I've committed to have my unit repaired then, there will be no turning back. Kapag na install na kasi nila, parts can't be returned anymore whether its the damaged part or not, need to pay for it na. At least 2 authorized dealer natanungan ko before with the same arrangements.

  • @musicgeek

    Eto itsura ng outdoor board ko. Merong malaki at maliit na pcb.

    <click here for link>

    Regarding the arrangement, ganon nga rin dito kay R. Acosta Ent. Wala nang solian pag na place na ang order sa piyesa kaya pumayag na rin ako patingin sa technician nila just in case.
  • @toyasyx

    Kung may sira man na component sa power board ay madali lang naman ma-repair unlike the control board na usually ay palit pcb na agad. Maigi at naisip ng Panasonic na gawin hiwalay na ang power board sa control board to make things cheaper to fix. =)

    Good to know that your Pana will be back soon.

    @nokia6100

    Good to know na ok ang aircon mo. Ano naman ang balita sa termite infestation?
  • Reading about damaged boards here makes me want to pursue my long delayed plan of running a ground wire from the outdoor unit to a really good earthed metal rod. meron nang kinabit si Bayantel nung araw na grounding rod. Will tap the wire there.

    thanks
  • mas ok ba bilihan ng new evaporator sa daikin mismo pero replacement daw at walang warranty or bili nalang ako ng bagong aircon?

    For me, get the new evaporator. Even without warranty, you'd be able to use it for another 3 years. And in that time, ipon mode ka na for a suitable replacement.
  • thanks Godai_Yusaku,

    price kasi for the new indoor evaporator is 10800 and this is not original daikin pa. parang pinafabricate siguro..

    replacement part lang from daikin philippines.

  • price kasi for the new indoor evaporator is 10800 and this is not original daikin pa. parang pinafabricate siguro..

    No sir, it won't fit it it wasn't compatible with your unit to begin with. More likely ay galing yan sa defective (or phased out) unit na kinahoy nila for parts kung kaya walang warranty. But for sure ay original na Daikin part yan. A fabricated evaporator will only fit if it was made and fitted on a jig or on the unit it was intended for.

    At 10.8k, the price tells me that it's brand new but just not covered by a warranty. It's around a third of the price of a new setup (31.5k ang sale price ni R&J yata) and is still far from half the cost of a new unit. Procurement practice kasi is to buy a new unit instead when repair costs reach half the price of a new one so I guess pasok pa yan.

    Sadly I have no opinion for this as I have yet to own a Daikin. But afaik, lahat sila ay manipis lang ang fins and coils. Ang delikado lang naman ay yung mga all-aluminum ang evaporators since yung mga ganun ang prone to corrosion. But given na copper coils naman ang Daikin, it's still a good buy.
Will buy for a friend.
  • ^Naku in-announce mo pa dito 1stock remaining baka maunahan kayo lalo ng iba nyan hehe

  • Good day mga master. Okay kaya itong voltage relay? Meron din recover both over at undervoltage pati yung seconds ng recovery delay.
