Need help setting up Static IP and Port Forwarding on PS4

    Router: Globe at home ZTE ZXHN H268A(v1.0)

    Nahanap ko na rin sirs yung admin ng Globe kaya no problem sa logging in, just need some step-by-step configuration. Salamat sa makakatulong.
  • before we proceed, meron ka bang Static IP addon kay Globe. if you dont know what im talking about, it means you didnt avail it. so that leads that this conversation ends here since there's no point doing port forwarding on CGNAT internet connection.
  • @polka

    AFAIK wala sir. So kailangan pala i avail yung Static IP na feature??

    -> nag port forwarding ako after sa router settings (using IP ni PS4)
    -> Enable si DMZ using IP ni PS4

    Not sure if yung DHCP binding is = Making a Static IP to be used by PS4, parang may nabasa kasi ata akong ganun? correct me if i'm wrong boss.
  • ^^ are you referring to a static WAN IP or just a static IP to be assigned sa PS4 mo? If you're referring sa latter, then merong option sa modem to assign sa static IP para sa PS4 mo. Iba-bid mo ung mac address (wired or wireless) sa IP na gusto mo gamitin.
  • ^^ Static IP lang boss to be assigned sa PS4. Ahh so MAC address ng PS4 pero yung IP na isusulat ko is yung gusto ko i assign sa PS4 tama ba sir? Also within DHCP range lang tama?? kasi may nakikita ako mag assign daw ako ng NOT within the range pero nung ginawa ko, may error na lumalabas. Not possible ata siya.

    *Also, DHCP binding = Static IP, tama ba sir??

  • ^^ pwedeng outside ng DHCP range as long as same subnet sya.

  • ^^ Hmm. So di ako network-inclined boss. Zero experience, so bear with me sir.

    You mean to say boss is ilagay siya sa DHCP binding? Kasi binind ko yung MAC address at IP address na binigay sa PS4 and binigyan ko ng name after. So more or less tama ba ginawa ko sir?

    *Also, ano po ba sir mas maganda i port forward na IP? sa PS4 ba or mismong sa router, yung binigay ng ISP? kasi parang walang difference nung sa PS4 pinort forward ko boss eh (yung MAC address ng PS4 nilagay ko initially), hirap pa rin sumali sa mga lobbies. Will try using sa router ISP.

  • BTW may nakita pala ako boss na helpful guide for my router, more or less mukhang taman naman ata ginawa ko as prescribed here:

    <click here for link>
  • certainly you can do the static IP on your local network but since this is PS4, the user is probably doing the usual fixing the strict NAT, so you need a Static IP subscription from globe to achieve this.

    so all the conversations doing a static IP on local network with PS4 is just futile work, it will not achieve any thing.
  • ^^ ohh .. harsh .. LOL.

    @justanoob
    why don't you try na i-refresh yung nakukuha mong IP sa Globe modem? From my past exp with Globe, me certain IPs sila na pag yun ang na-a-assign sa'yo, me certain things na nde accessible.
  • @polka

    Noted boss. So it all comes down back to subscription pala. Never knew may ganung service pala. Maramng salamat boss!

    @swat

    Hmm.. will try searching for those and the "refreshing the IP" thing na sinasabi mo, salamat boss!

    *So most I can do is Port Forwarding. Static IP is out of the question. Thanks sirs!
