I have seen in Ace Hardware SM an RJ45 PLUG na naka lagay 1 Plug to 2 Jack, para syang splitter na from 1 ethernet port na maging 2 ports. My brother in law wants to use this para sa Pldt router na isang port lang ang gumagana, is this viable? He would use one lan to his desktop and the other to his laptop since parang naira yung wifi ng laptop nya. Would the speed be split to 2?

kelangan mo ng switch,
di po gagana yan as intended.

Hindi gagana yan, bumili ka na lang ng cheap Router tapos iconnect mo siya sa nag-iisang port ng PLDT modem. Your Router then will have 3 more ports at the back that can be used...

IIRC the one in Ace Hardware is an RJ-11 splitter, useful only for telephones.
If you only need more LAN ports, then a LAN switch is recommended.
