normal po ba na parang may buzzing/whirring sound yung ups, wala namang power outage pero biglang may tumutunog na buzzing sound na mejo malakas pero nawawala din,

the buzzing sound is either generated by the inverter or the transformer. if you hear anything on your UPS like buzzing and beeping, that's normal, pag sumabog yan, hindi na normal yun.

^ yes normal lang yan, UPS is constantly charging the battery, they call it Trickle Charging. After all, the battery inside the UPS is a lead acid battery, the same battery chemistry that you can find on car batteries, and if you own a car, you probably know that you need to run your car for about once a month to keep the battery alive. in UPS its the same deal here but in this case your UPS is maintaining the 100% charge of your battery, also as a side effect it also prolong the battery life span of your UPS. Yun nga lang meron extra 5watts power consumption just for maintaining the batteries.
tl;dr, your UPS is keeping your battery charged so thats where the extra heat comes even nothing plugs to it or your turn it off (not unplugging the power of the UPS from the wall). -
