Mobile Number Portability

  • Starting September 30, 2021

Mobile number portability, or MNP, as a global practice enables a mobile phone customer to keep their number even when they switch networks or change their subscription from postpaid to prepaid and vice versa, free of charge.

Porting involves two types, internal and external.
Internal porting means moving only within your mother network.
External porting means bringing your number from your mother network to an outside network or vice versa. The network where you're coming from is called the originating network, while the network where you’ll transfer to becomes the receiving network.

NTC said customers of a telco can keep their mobile numbers when switching networks.
As stated by law, you can be able to port to telco from another network when you meet the following criteria:
    Have an active mobile number
Your mobile number shouldn’t be part of a bundled service or product
There must be no pending request for the transfer of ownership of your mobile subscription
Your mobile number must not have other accounts under your subscription
No porting request in the last 60 days
    No fraudulent activity
No remaining balances from your previous postpaid bill or financial obligations
Your mobile number must not be linked to a device that is still locked.
Your mobile number must not be under any NTC, court or law prohibition.

At the very least, you should be able to submit these basic requirements:
A valid unique subscriber code (USC)
    A government-issued ID
Proof of ownership of your mobile number

  • Too late, no one bothers about their Cell numbers now a days other than to top-up their SIM cards with load. Most of our contact information are done now over messaging apps (FB messenger, viber, etc...), imbis na kunin mo yung actual number nya, the people is asking for their facebook account instead and add them. Cell number, meh, that thing is only good for 2FA.

  • sir my hindi po gumanaga ang txt USC to 5050 ng globe, plano ko sana mg port from globe to smart kaso yung hotline nila na 211 wala rin customer service representative, automated voice lang sumasagot.
  • as of now wala ka makaka usap sa customer care ng globe...

    for Gomo...
Hey, GOMO Fam! We wish to inform you that Mobile Number Portability (MNP) for GOMO will be available by October 2021 due to unavoidable technical issues. We're sorry for the inconvenience this may cause.
Don't worry, we're working hard to make the service available at the soonest time possible.

  • My nakausap na po ako na nag work sa globe pro sabi niya wala pa dw sa kanina my alam regarding sa USC.
  • pag ganitong meron ng MNP, nakakatempt lumipat ng ibang network. from smart to dito. lol!

Which is may point nga naman.

Bwisit kasi, bakit wala kasing Prepaid Esim!?

  • This is good news!

My CP number is more than 20yrs old na. Yung SIM nya yung malalaki pa, so I have to buy an old style cellphone that support the original SIM size. Smartphone doesn't support Standard Size SIM anymore.

    Paano ba process nito?

    your globe# 0917 1234567 to smart 0917 1234567

  • @emilbook
Mobile number portability is for changing network pero mareretain yung existing number mo. If sim upgrade lang, you can go to sa store nila then you can upgrade your sim. My experience sa Smart when I upgraded to 4G sim back then, mabilis lang yung process.

  • ^ Puro all networks na ang mga call and text promos ngayon ng globe at smart so that will not be an issue anymore. Kung meron pa ding existing old promos, malamang paphase out na.

  • tumawag ako sa smart, need daw matapos yung 2 year lock in period before ma grant yung request for transfer.

1 year to go. need ko lang naman yung number kasi madaling memorize.
