APC UPS - Is it possible to add additional sockets?

  • Hi guys.

Basically, I'm looking for a way to safely add new socket or extend.
    1. Nag ask ako recommendation from APC Laz*da. Not possible daw ang sagot.

Medyo conflicting ung result. Any recommendation?
  • ive been using an extension cord (royu brand) sa UPS ko, so far okay naman, i do it kasi malayo yung router ko, at short lang yung power cord na hindi aabot sa UPS sa floor. As long as you don't overload it with its capacity, okay lang naman. Been doing it for years na.

Kung meron man nasa very expensive range na. Ito lang kasi ilalagay ko.

    1 - converge modem
    1 - asus ax6000 router
1 - Suncomm 02 - very expensive 5g stuck sa 4g router.

Relying on suncomm to supply in case interrupted si converge. 3 interruptions less than a year.
    4. Limited ung outlet having 2 APC UPS connected directly sa main line. Hoping mafree up ko ung isa.

Total mo wattage ng lahat mong devices, and make sure lang na it is like 50% below the actual capacity ng UPS, e.g. 900watt UPS (1500va), and yung devices mo total around 400watt lang or less, okay lang lagyan yan ng extension cord.

I have a 325watt UPS (APC bx650li (650va/325watts) and yung socket ng UPS nato is only 2 sockets, so yung ginawa ko is naglagay ako ng extension cord because I have the following devices:

x1 LCD Monitor na 20watt, (diretso saksak sa UPS)
x2 modems (PLDT & Globe) estimate nalang 20watts din so 40watts via extension cord
x1 Router (Tenda), another 20watts via extension cord
    Total = 80watts

Yung main purpose talaga is para mag karoon ako ng additional socket plus extended kasi medyo nasa taas yung modems ko, so hindi aabot yung cord ng modems. I have been running this setup for like over 5 years na and so far okay lang talaga.

Also I do not run the UPS all day if may power outage, they are inplace para lang maka save ako ng work files ko while connected to the internet.

Yung PC ko has a separate UPS na para lang talaga sa kanya.

It is worth the shot, basta quality extension cord lang like panther, royu.

If iiwan mo ng matagalan, like whole day dahil power outage, I don't think its better to have it, mas mabuti power generator talaga if matagalan na power outage for your CCTV. UPS is just for a short power outage just to save your files and in time for you to turn on the power generator.

Ah.

May UPS naman so for surges UPS na yung sasalo.
