  Question po, I just found out last night na bumigay na yung 2nd dimm slot ng mobo and unfortunately nadamay yung Ram stick na nakalagay. I am left with a single stick of Gskill Ripjaw 4g 1600 CL9. Now I plan to buy either a 8x2 or 4x2 set with the same timings and speed. May negative effect ba kung 3 slot lang yung occupied? Salamat

  Double-check mo sir yung RAM stick na naka-install sa damaged slot baka working pa naman. Usually bihirang-bihira masira ang RAM stick and pwede mo pa-warranty yan kasi lifetime warranty madalas ang G.Skill Ripjaws memory kits. I'm guessing working pa yan pero yung DIMM slots ng motherboard mo nagloloko na.
  
  Medyo risky bumili ng another set of memory para sa motherboard mo kasi kung nasira ang isang DIMM slot, baka pabigay narin yung motherboard mo. I would recommend replacing your motherboard first kung may budget, kasi hindi mo alam kung end of life na siya. Malay mo sir working perfectly yung memory mo pero yung motherboard talaga ang may sira.
  
  Regarding negative effect kung 3 slots ang occupied... yes meron. Yung memory mo will be operating in single-channel mode so halved ang bandwith. Assuming working perfectly parin ang 2nd set of DIMM slots pwede pa ang 2x8GB or 2x4GB in dual channel mode.

  Ang ginawa ko is, I tried each dimm slot one at a time with each stick. With the ram stick that I think is working, nag boot yung pc na walang problema except dun sa 2nd dimm slot. Dun sa ram stick na I think is sira, nag q-code 20 each time on all slots (Maximus V Gene mobo) What do you think?
  
  I'm looking to still use the old board, pero now na baka nga malapit na sa endo yung board I might just get a 4x2 na ram set dahil nasa 3k lang naman, so in case bumigay yung mobo mas madali tanggapin sa kalooban :) Ang hirap na kasi maghanap ng 1155 na mobo, gusto ko sana mag itx pero para lang ma minimize yung gastos gamitin ko na lang muna yung old parts hanggang makapag ipon ulit. For now I'll upgrade the monitor, gpu, add another HDD and SSD as boot drive, pwede ko pa naman sila I-carry over sa next build.

  Ah most likely damaged narin ang memory... sayang Maximus V Gene pa naman yung motherboard mo. Hard to find ngayon mga Z77 motherboards especially mga enthusiast Micro-ATX motherboards.
  
  Kung may plans ka mag upgrade ng CPU and motherboard within this year or next year... just buy 2x4GB of memory muna then tiyaga muna sa existing setup. No point in spending too much on DDR3 memory kung bibili ka lang din ng DDR4 memory soon.
  
  Pero if you are using Core i7 and gusto mo pa i-stretch yung lifespan ng PC mo for a few more years, then look for a good deal on 2x8GB DDR3-2133 memory kits. Remember na two usable slots nalang ang motherboard mo and to maximize them mas maganda ang 2x8GB setup para dual-channel operation. Siguro huwag mo nalang i-overclock ang memory and just use XMP settings para medyo tumagal pa ang buhay ng other memory slots.

  Yes use only the 2nd set of DIMM slots na pwede mag dual-channel operation. If damaged ang isang memory slot, chances are may tama narin yung kapares niya na slot. So use only DIMM_A2 + DIMM_B2 or DIMM_A1 + DIMM_B1.

  Need po advice: ano po ang pinaka-da best na RAM na available sa market today in terms of price, aesthetics and quality. Planning to upgrade sa March or May from 8GB 2666 MHz to either 16GB 3000MHz or 3200 MHz

  E cross-check mo yung BIOS Settings mo sa baka pwde e force Dual Channe mo yung DIMM na walang ka pares.

  I want to upgrade to 16gb, I have two options:
  
  1. buy another 8gbx1 with the same brand
  2. sell my current ram and buy another ram
  
  question ko lang sa option 2, if bibili ako ng dual channel ram, ok lang ba na mas mataas sa ddr4 2400?

  Ok naman ang G.Skill Flare X DDR4-2400 as long as you get the CL15 model. In my experience kaya siya i-overclock to DDR4-2800 CL16 speeds pero that's with a Ryzen 5 1600X and X370 motherboard. Maybe with a B450 motherboard mas maganda ang overclocking experience.
  
  Kung naka Ryzen 3 APU ka, my suggestion is go for the budget DDR4-2666 or DDR4-3000 memory kits tulad ng T-Force Delta RGB. Meron 2x4GB DDR4-2666 memory kit na worth Php 4,100 kung tight ang budget mo sir. Difference between DDR4-2666 and DDR4-3000 is very small and almost negligible na kung gumamit ka ng dedicated videocard :-)

  It depends on what memory setup you are running now. If you are already using DDR4-2133 or DDR4-2400 memory, switching to G.Skill Flare X DDR4-2400 will not offer any extra performance benefit.
  
  For Ryzen 3 2200G using the built-in Vega 8 graphics, try aiming for DDR4-2933 memory speeds since the APU supports that speed by default. That should give a decent boost in FPS with Vega 8 graphics. So look for dual channel memory kits rated at DDR4-3000 to DDR4-3200 if possible.
  
  Also remember to setup your memory in dual-channel mode, meaning use two memory sticks like 2x4GB or 2x8GB to maximize memory bandwidth to the GPU. Running your memory in single-channel mode (1x4GB or 1x8GB) will cause a large drop in FPS with Vega 8 graphics and can also cause CPU bottlenecks.

  I'm using the pc now with just the single stick of ram and waiting/limping for Ryzen 3000 to come out (500 series boards too) It's still several months out but since I'm not using my pc that often lately, I think its ok.

  Compatible ba to sa Ryzen 5 2600 + MSI B450m Bazooka Plus? Di ko makita sa QVL eh.
  
  Or may suggestion ba kayo na better 2x4GB 2666+ mhz na below 2.7k?

  Share lang in-case may mag-hanap (since wala akong nakita about this before), pero working ang Geil Super Luce 2x4 2666 sa Ryzen 5 2600 + MSI B450m Bazooka Plus, kahit na wala sa QVL.
  
  Na-overclock pa to 2933 mhz via memory-try-it.

  good evening po mga sir. newbie question lang po. im planning on upgrading my RAM po kasi by adding a new set. im currently using g.skill ripjaws 8gb(4x2) ddr3 1866 CL9 on a gigabyte h97m d3h mobo. wala na po kasi ako makita na nagbebenta ng same RAM na ginagamit ko. all im seeing is puro mga hyper x ddr3 1866 ram.
  
  compatible po kaya pagsamahin ang ripjaws ddr3 1866 ram ko with the hyper x brands, basta ddr3 1866 din? or dapat same din ng CAS latency, which in my case CL9(cl9-10-9-28 sa sticker)?
