Hi guys!
Newb here. I'm planning on investing in the stock market.
Any tips/advice for beginners? Where should I start? What will I need to know and research?
Is there a FAQ that I could view here?
TIA!!

ako din sir kakastart ko lang. ito ang una kong tip, wag maexcite sa pagbili ng stocks. pagplanuhan mabuti lalo na ung entry order mo look for buy signal..
at huwag magpadala sa hype. :D

Newbie question. Anong minimum na share na pwede bilin?
It varies for each company. Look at the board lot.
If board lot is 100, it means the minimum you can buy is 100 shares. And, if you want more than 100 shares, you increase by 100's (100 --> 200 --> 300 --> 400).

Dapat may FAQ page na rin tong thread na to.
For newbies talaga watching Pesos and Sense in youtube is a good start kahit luma na sya.
Advice ko lang sa newbies. It's okay to dive right in kahit newbie pa lang, basta wag muna mag all in. kumbaga magpasok lang ng kaunting halaga muna say P5k-8k, buy agad ng isang blue chip. Iba pa rin talaga kasi yung may hawak ka na. Mas mabilis maintindihan.

try mo minimum of 10k pesos kahit anong stocks na magkasya na board lot para di ka lugi sa transaction, consider mo na din ang sell charges

I agree with sir roceanoz, open an account first, tapos pondohan nyo at least 10k. Para ma monitor nyo po yung stock market, paano galaw at paano transactions. Wag agad agad bibili :D

advice sa newbie, mag-aral na muna. trading since 2015, kumita naman but last may 2016, nagtry ako mag-day trading, so far naman as of this very moment P55,000 na talo ko. i still consider myself newbie. pinakamalaking gain in a day is P25,000 and pinakamalaking loss in a day is P22,000.

Invest in MF or UITF while learning the ropes of buying individual stocks.

From I gather (for various sources), it seems that FNI's subsidiary (PGMC) is indeed included in the closure list. I would assume that the trading halt of FNI until Monday is due to this confusion. Better to avoid or bail out (if you're holding) until everything clears unless of course you're someone who can effectively manage and take advantage of this kind of environment. There are many good performing stocks right now, so it's best to move to those.

stocks is the risky means to earn money, while savings is the best practice you can do to yourself to help you fulfill your goals and for future business ventures whatever it is. stocks is what makes you a player and not an investor.

Check the final list in the DENR site: http://denr.gov.ph/. PGMC is the one listed, and from some sources it seems that it's a major asset of FNI (also checking FNI home page shows PGMC)
