pag walang dialtone, malamang may issue sa line. report mo muna yung issue sa dialtone.

^pag copper max 1Mbps, pag fiber minsan 50% ng download or parehas ng download.
kami na migrate sa fiber from plan 999, 5M down and 2.5M up.

Tama na yung upload mo. 1mbps is just max. May overhead pa nakasama kaya sakto na ung nakukuha mo sa upload through DSL

Modem Zyxel P 660HN T1A
Paano po kaya maiimprove yung connection namin?
SNR 6.5 (before today mga 15 yan, ewan ko bakit bumagsak today)
Attenuation 50

paano ba maging mas secure?

As mentioned pwedeng Hide SSID name, kaso downside it'll show as "Others" on most devices.
A more secure way is to make use of MAC Filtering sa WiFi. Mano-mano mo iseset yung MAC address na "Allow" to connect. Kahit walang password yung WiFi mo basta may MAC Filtering di makakalusot unknown wifi clients.

wouldnt changing the router ip also change your default gateway on the lan side?

not that i know of...pinalitan ko lang yung default 192.168.1.1 to something else and everything remained the same. Nobody got disconnected from what i remember. Our routers the baudtec one that pldt provided.

@grayfox17
Well it does sir.
I wanted to know how changing your router ip help in avoiding someone hacking in to your network and/or messing with your admin gui.
In this case router ip = default gateway as far as your devices are concerned.
Your default gateway is seen by everyone already connected ergo anyone already in your network can see your router ip.
If it was possible to change the http port on it then yes that would fend off most people in your network.
Or do hackers uses a tool that requires they know the exact ip address of the wifi adsl router by pldt?
Enterprise might have some tricks but not consumer stuff like baudtec.

so what if it does? all i care about is that no one outside our home piggybacking on our wifi anymore like before.

It might help others sir and i am also curious so i wanted to know

well, technically, hindi ko alam kung ano man ang significant advantage nun. Uulitin ko, hindi ko alam. I was looking around the settings on how to do the QoS stuff when I saw the option to change the IP for the GUI. Its been 2 years na since I did this and since I figured common ang 192.168.1.1 as default and so i thought changing it up might help make our router secure.
Given the device that we were given, i was just trying to make do with what we have. And what I've done does not guarantee it will help the others as well.

for wifi security, just set to wpa2/aes. then use a long password and non-dictionary words. 8 characters use to be the norm, but if you increase it to 12, then it will be very hard to bruteforce hack. no need for those mac filtering as its just added work.

It's better that it's there than not.

yes it's added security but not really scalable. since it requires you to modify the config everytime my new device. mahirap pa kung wala tayo dun para magconfigure. anyway iba iba rin naman requirements natin.
