  • @dawinsm na try ko pa lang is around mga 110meters from point house to house. Stable naman sya. Sa point B meron nakakabit na router acting only as Access point. So i still have the control from the main Router.

ang problem sayo is super haba, baka need mo dyan ng multiple devices in between.
  • Pa suggest naman po ng router, pang bahay lang, budget is up to 6k only, primary purpose is to stream hd mkv videos between rooms at yung may bandwidth limiter dahil may malakas mag youtube dito, ansakit sa ulo.

Actually why not do both and get the mid end ones and install tomato.
  • Anong brand and model po maisuggest nyo?
  • ^ all i know is if you used wireless to wireless repeaters you automatically suffer from speed degradation due to the way wireless works.

problem din sya if you use 2.4 ghz to connect to other router and also 2.4ghz to laptop or phone.

it's actually much better to connect your repeater to router on 2.4ghz then use 5ghz in the repeater as access point. but Syempre if the repeater is 5ghz capable.

all in all much better pa din na i connect yung repeater sa Router using wire.

but try to tweak some settings baka mag improve, or I pwesto near the window or router.
  • @ryandegreat25

    Thanks...
  • ^ i think wala naman benefits in having 3rd party firmware Sa router unless mahilig ka mag customized like maybe installing tools or torrent or VPN :p

but personally 1 decade na akong gumagamit ng tomato-firmware :p
  • @ryandegreat25

    Thanks..
  • ^ just to add ang setup ko sa bahay is i have 2.4ghz and 5ghz for my personal Ssid, then another virtual wifi on another bridge with speed limit Para sa mga freeloaders.

I am also running VPN on the router connecting the Nas box.

Yung mga ganitong Setup, di pa ko nakakita sa mga default Firmware. pero i know pag dating sa speed halos walang benefits or kung meron man minsan depende pa din sa Router.
  • up ko lang, how many percent ng success ratio sa tingin nyo kapag nag-flash ako from DD-WRT to Tomato Shibby? Linksys E1000 v2.1 yung sakin (Broadcom SoC)
  • ^ i have not tried but siguro 95.5% hehe, i think sinagot ka din ni tvlz dun sa linksysinfo.

Just make sure you tick the box to erase nvram upon flashing.

Before from WRT54GL, pabalik balik ako between DDWRT and Tomato without hiccups

  • ^ Hehe I think pwede mo na flash to tomato directly Pero again risk is on you hehe.
we are using win7 windows defender/malwarebyte..

:-) Back-up at hatakin mo muna config.
  • @yaaa
  • Good day guys need your advice...

    thanks for your reply
  • @all
And may effect ba sa connection kapag Hindi mo sinunod yung proper way
Basta magkapareho any magkabilang dulo OK na.

And may effect ba sa connection kapag Hindi mo sinunod yung proper way

And may effect ba sa connection kapag Hindi mo sinunod yung proper way
Basta magkapareho any magkabilang dulo OK na.

  • I think you should follow the wiring guide, technically it should work but with issues, it will cause so called crosstalk. If youre running on above 100mbit speeds, then you may experience degraded speeds and possibly packet loss.

hindi ginawa yung 8p-8c pinouts for nothing.

  • guys, i'm not a network guy. I'm here to get some advice. how can i define IP range that can have internet access. We are using windows DCHP server.

here's the current setup of our office network -- we are just very small company.

iGate <--- Cisco Router/Wireless <-- Switch hub (unmanage) <-- workstations

    thanks
  • @plutho

Since you don't have vLAN, simplest would be to do static mappings in the windows DHCP Server.

Remove the Default Gateway portion for those that don't need internet access in DHCP Server
Else, configure your Cisco Router's "Access Restrictions" page for specific IP Address in your static mappings.
