  • @taba

Load Balancer ko is NEWIFI3 D2
    ISP1-Converge>>>>>>>>>>>WAN>>>>WAN1
    ISP2-Smart (corpo sim)>>>>USB>>>>>WAN2

Gamit kong firmware is ASUS wrt.

  • Peplink Balance One Failover visual of a 1.6Gb Youtube video upload

    1. Started on Skybroadband, slow upload of 5mbps max
    2. Disconnected Sky
    3. Upload continued uninterrupted on PLDT VDSL2, somewhat faster at 30mbps max
    4. Reconnected Skybroadband, Upload session didn't go back (per failover rules, transfer only if connection fails, and checkbox to return to previous session when its back up is un-checked.)

Was going to try Skype, but realized I don't have any contacts using it anymore, we've move on to Teams...lol

  • maxx6740 yes ASUS WRT firmware has default dual wan setup..... i was able to fine a solution for my cheapstake self lol..... bought a cheap asus router with dual wan function to enable....

bought a cheap second hand Asus RT-N12HP_B1... plug in WAN port -> my primary connection which was GlobeVDSL, and LAN 1 port-> my secondary connection which was Globe at home LTE.... enable on the settings dual wan, enable dual wan to on then identified LAN port 1 as the secondary connection post... also since i needed to get back to my main connection if ever i gain back connection i checked the allow fallback check box.....and so far it was good.... screenshot here >>><click here for link> .... i havent tested with an active skype call session or google meet since my setup is high up the ceiling lol.....will see if actually connects right away.... so far by my count establishing connection is about 10secs per lost of connection with a simple discon then count with a cmd window with ping google.com -t timeout to establishing connection

  • buti naman pala merong cheap asus routers kahit luma since malakas naman ang bagong router ni globe i opted to turn off the wifi broadcast of my SSID also on my secondary router acting as a LAN router....
  • hiccups ko lang pala... una ginawa kong AP settings ang router at disbled DHCP which i had problems kung source mo pala isaisak sa WAN it doesnt matter pala na iba ang network ng nakasaksak sa WAN and 2nd WAN.... so advice... dont do AP by disabling DHCP of the load balancer router....
  • Mga sir good pm. Gusto ko lang sana magtanung, and I don't know kung eto yung tamang thread.

Somebody is offering me a part time project based job for 2 different sites, San Juan (2-4 days) muna then Makati (3-5 days).

    Scope:
    - Pickup equipment from data center then checking and mounting to designated server rack
    - Install switches and servers (1st site - 11 servers + 2 switches), (2nd site - 37 servers + 5 switches)
    - Connect the cables between switches and ISP switch
    - Connect the fibers between servers and switches
    - Arrange the connected cables properly
    - Connect console cable between laptop and switches
    - Teamviewer / Anydesk should be running (they have engineers to do the configuration)

The client requires 2 person per site. Usually magkano ang rates sa ganitong scope? Thanks.

Thanks!
  • ^your looking for the wrong device, hanap ka ng mesh wifi kit, that will most likely solve you issue but I dont know about your wallet and given that your house have 3rd floor, baka kulang pa 12k mo dyan for the basic kit (which 3 pucks) you might actuall spend around 20k+ just to get full coverage on all floors while still getting the subscribed plan on your Internet connection

pero kung gusto mo lang umabot signal sa 2nd 3rd floor (kahit hindi mo makuha yung full 25mbps plan for example, something like you can only get around 5mbps at best on 3rd floor) then get a cheap wifi repeaters na tig 500 pesos and interconnect them together, you probably need around 2 -3 of these repeaters to make it work, yun nga lang medyo kelangan mo mag manual connect sa ibang SSID per floor but hey it works and its cheap.

    1. P600/wifi reapeater sa shopee/lazada. x 2 = P1200
    2. 30m cat6 lan cable x 2 - 1 going ground floor, 1 goint to 3rd floor - P800
    3. program the wifi repeater as access points connecting them via lan cable to the converge router.
    4. no need for seemless connectivity kasi auto naman ang mga gadgets to pick up the strongest saved wifi ssid.

lahat siguro less than P2000, mga 1000 labor & materials - double sided tape, cable tie, wire management strips, wire conduits kung ayaw mong naka kalat yung mga lan cables mo. etc.

    so P3000 ay ok na.
  • Help, Anong magandang brand ng usb 3.0 to ethernet adapter na cat6 compatible? Preferably available sa SM North and magkano kaya aabutin

    nice idea!
  • 4. no need for seemless connectivity kasi auto naman ang mga gadgets to pick up the strongest saved wifi ssid.

i wish that was easier said than done, this option is only valid on certain devices. and you probably dont know how 802.1r works since you suggested that idea as if it works the same as I recommended earlier.

well if you can deal with minor inconveniences, this kind of setup works and cheap.

as always those mini-routers/repeaters were that cheap for a reason.
  • ^ alam mo yung suggestion na ino offer mo na 20k ang price for the convenience of seamless SSID coverage ay hindi naman worth it. ano ba naman ang inconvenience na maidudulot na mag wait ka a few seconds sa pag palit ng ssid connection?

hindi naman life or death situation ang madisconnect ka from FB or Instagram for a few seconds habang umaakyat ka ng stairs di ba?

Depeden rin usa use case like myself and wifey are working from home. Our house is having 2nd floor and each floor has AP. I settled for Ubiquiti products because it can combine both 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz into one SSID with the same password and seamless connection whenever we go (as long as within the same vicinity area of course).

There was a time my wife host the meeting on her team upstairs and she needs to cook our dinner at the same time. Literal na hawak nya laptop nya at nakikipag usap sa team habang nagluluto. Coming from 2nd floor to 1st floor without disruption of connection.

  • also reminder, yung site kasi ay may name na TIPIDpc.com
  • Coming from 2nd floor to 1st floor without disruption of connection.

alam ko naman na hindi lahat ng tao kaya yung recommendation ko kaya I also go that 2nd route as well, unless hindi ka nagbasa, so they can just go with the repeater route, it works and its cheap, its a little inconvinient though. just imagine na lang nasa middle of the important conversation ka tapos lumipat ka sa ibang area sa house mo, putol ang internet dahil walang 802.1r support and mga AP. Now get that roaming working in your house, no headaches, it just works.

as we say here, you get what you pay for.
  • as we say here,
don't buy a Lamborghini for taxi business

  • Sorry noob here...

    ISP : Skybroadband 50mbps
    Stock modem

kung kaya ng isang Tplink Wifi 6 router then mas ok to.
  • May recommended po ba kayong WiFi Router for home na puro walls and with 2nd floor? Currently gamit namin is stock router from ISP namin, pag nasa room ako mahina signal, paputol putol ung wifi (pagnaka wired ok naman, pag mobile gamit namin di maganda connection), mostly gagamitin for wfh and online gaming so need consistent connection/latency. Budget is 5k or lower, pwede mag adjust if need.
