Post your aircon & ref problems...

Model ETA10WDR3-HF Room size nasa 13sqm. Wala po ata akong warranty since hindi ako nagpa install sknila may dati na kasi akong ac kaya all goods pa ung lahat ng wirings, nag upgrade lang sa mas higher hp.

We have this AC sa rented house namin sa province. It's a rebadged Midea that displays the ambient temp during operation. Medyo matakaw siya sa kuryente and is rather inefficient lalo at mababa lang ang CFM nya. The only good thing about it is that tahimik siya for a conventional aircon.

Kung susundan mo yung sizing chart ng conventional aircons, it should have no problem cooling your 13sqm room. But to be honest with you, that particular aircon is on the weak side and should be sized like an inverter AC. This means na underpowered siya for your room. Your best bets would be:
    1. Panasonic CWXN1020VPH
    2. GE AEE09KP (no idea sa OEM)
    3. Gree U-J09-3NR / Kolin KAG-100HRE4
    4. Haier HW-09RCQ13
    5. Fujidenzo WAR90CES (Chigo OEM)

All are standard sized (560mm x 350mm) units as opposed to the compact unit that you got. They are also rated 3-stars sa efficiency instead of the one you got which is only rated 2 stars.

typical at around 7~7.5K or more.
but most of the dealers are offering it for free for the first 10ft of copper tubes & comms line. mounting brackets included as free, sa iba meron charge. depende sa dealer/installer.

I already have done that sa top of the page. Not directly for your query but it also applies to your query. Good luck!

For 2hp recently installed in our living room, quoted price was 8k. Includes 10 feet pipe and communication wires. 350 per additional foot. 1k for floor mounted bracket. Includes Nema 3R + 20 A circuit breaker.

Yung conductor size is gauge #10 THHN/THWN-2.

Quoted price was 7.5k first 10 ft, 325 per additional ft, 1k floor mounted bracket, includes also the Nema 3R + 20 A CB. Conductor size was gauge #12.

    Short answer: NO

    1. If conventional AC yan, it will easily overload the line for your lights. Most houses only use a 10A breaker for lights. Tapping a 2HP conventional AC into that would be a nightmare. It might not result in a fire, but for sure laging walang ilaw sa bahay dahil mag-trip ang branch breaker for the lights.
    2. If inverter AC yan, hindi pa rin. Why? It might work sa simula, pero sandali lang ay lalabas na ang issues like pagkurap ng lights when the AC is operating and tripping ng breaker during peak load operation.
  • ^
    dedicated yan sir?
if yes then technically, kaya nya yung aircon

    220v x 30a = 6600watts

2HP aircon is roughly 1600 watts

This is very little info to go on. Surely you can plug in your 2HP inverter ST sa wall socket. But that wall socket is powered by a dedicated convenience outlet breaker sa panel board mo sa bahay. Depending on the house, the CO breaker is usually 25~30A. So yes kayang kaya nya mag-supply ng power sa AC mo.

The next question is: safe ba yan naisip mo? The short answer: NO. I suggest you stop asking snippet questions and proceed to seek an electrician for your requirements. BTW, a 15A breaker will be fine for a 2HP inverter AC. So plugging it into a 30A CB line is actually unsafe for it. Seek an electrician. Get it set up properly. Pay him for his service.

Same as above. Call an electrician - a real one (may license) and not just someone who claims to know, and have that person tell you what you need to safely own and operate that aircon.
  • The worst situations I ever encountered were in houses na fuse box lang ang gamit to power an entire house.

There's a reason modern houses use panel boards with safety breakers in them - it's for both the safety of the occupants and the appliances. In most small homes, there's a main breaker (50A), and usually 4 branches - one for the outlets (30A), one for the lights (10A), and 2 vacant ones that can be used to accommodate aircons, water pumps, or even a water heater. If your home only comes with a fuse box, you seriously need to get it updated to use a proper panel board. If you're just renting, then you badger your landlord to do this. Otherwise, you make a deal to offset the cost to upgrade from your monthly rental. Or worse, move to a place na updated na ang electricals.

Now if you yourself can't make heads or tails of all this info, then it would be best to seek a professional to help you out.
  • ^and it would be a strike of luck for a small household having a properly designed control panel. fault would be at the hands of these " i know how" electricians. "maliit lang naman ang bahay mo,,,, pwede na yan,,,," or the homeowners themselves cutting corners just to save which is terribly wrong and unsafe.
  • +1 sa 2 comments sa taas

    sorry for my irresponsible comment

mentioned na technically kaya paandarin ng 30a yung aircon which is true,

best to consult certified electricians, hindi naman yan ganun kamahal if safety and peace of mind ang kapalit

got mine with free installation inclusive of; first 10m copper/wiring(comms line), PVC drain pipe, outdoor unit mounting bracket.
binayaran ko pala yun 15A circuit breaker + weather proof enclosure for 600 or 700 pesos iirc.
  • Hello,

May Daikin 2 HP queen series inverter po kami pinainstall last May 2021. Recently parang hirap sya palamigin yung kwarto namin na nasa 25 sqm. Dati naman is kaya nya palamigin kahit naka econo mode.

Last month triny namin na wag iecono at hayaan lang at around 24C-25C yung ac and pumalo yung bill namin at around 11.7K. Nagpapacleaning kami usually after 3-4 months since 24 hours kami sya ginagamit and pinapatay lang usually pag weekends since wash day. Naisip namin ipacheck up yung ac to check if may issue ba kung bakit nahihirapan yung ac.

Visit Daikin's service page and have it checked by authorized service. Expect them to quote an astronomical repair bill as they will go by the book. You can go the opposite direction and instead look for a decent repair service from the many FB groups dedicated to inverter ref and aircon repair. There you will find many capable service technicians who do repair and not just replace damage parts.

    Good luck!
  • Thank you, will check things out and hopefully makakita ng magaling na tech, pinabalikan kasi namin dun sa nag check up previously nung unit to let them fix things out, but they were unable to see any particular issues. One thing nalang na pinopoint out nila is may voltage issue and need daw palitan yung 500uF/450V na electrolytic capacitor, which is kind of unusual ata based sa usual issues and they are planning to change it, skeptical ako ipagalaw yung board agad.

So they want to replace yung mains capacitor ng outdoor unit PCB? Given yung age ng unit mo and yung corrosion na nakita sa EEV, I wouldn't be surprised if a tech would recommend na palitan yung mga capacitors, sensors, and even yung EEV. These items when replaced are still cheap compared to replacing an entire PCB.

Hope you find a good service technician near your area.
