Ask Sir Tony - an Electronics/Electrical Q & A thread

  • Post deleted #11935362
Salamat!

  • sir paano magpost ng pic,

  • ang wire ba for split type inverter 1.5 hp is #10 thhn wire tapos 30A breaker? hnd ba mataas na din un since hindi lagi gagana ang motor/compressor? pag non inverter window type naman pwede na #12 thhn wire at 20a? tia
  • guys, just a quick question... kung meron akong 5v powerbank with 2A output at kabitan ko ng 4 separate unit na usb led light (4-6leds each), does it mean na automatic ba na distributed ung ibibigay ni powerbank? Like .5A*4=2A? In this case, kung sakali gagamit ako ng 5v battery (for motor bikes) with higher Amps pano ko po ito malilimit sa 2A lang to use for usb Light led's? Thanks po.
  • @timmy09

  • Pagdating sa breaker, higher rating doesnt mean that its better. Read the users manual. Nandon ang recommended circuit breaker rating.
  • Yup, huwag masyadong mataas ang rating sa breaker, you may risk burning the appliances first before the breaker trips. Well, that's the principle.
  • Anong okay brand na electrical wire? Thnn?
  • i see, so ok na ang 20A kahit sa split type na 1.5hp? thanks
  • Check aircon manual.

  • Di pede for me.

  • Unless you buy a 12v to 220v inverter, which may be more expensive than a 12v to USB power adapter.
  • me nabasa ako dati na ung mga 220v led light bulb pwede gawing 12v meron lang papalitan/tagangalin pra maging 12v. maybe same principle applies...? any other input... thanks.
  • ^ LED bulbs are quite simple in terms of circuit design.

USB chargers are more complicated. Besides, the component spacing can be quite tight since most are designed to be as small as possble.

    Let's use this image

Tell me if you think you can replace any soldered component in that circuit board.

  • Walang paraan. See that chip? Thats a 5volt voltage regulator. replace that with a 12volt regulator chip and all other associated components magiging 12 volts na.... Kaso surface mounted components yan.

in short, better buy a 12volt power supply kesa wasakin mo yan.
  • Doesn't matter. A USB charger is a switch-mode power supply, like a PC's power supply.

You'll probably end up changing half the circuit , not just replacing two or three components as you think. And you'd definitely need the schematics of the circuit board in order to know which components to replace.
  • yes, thanks guys for clearing this up. mali kasi talaga ang binili, supposed to be pra sana ito sa 12v load ng mppt kaso binili nman png 220v outlet.. anyway, thanks po uli...

  • Maximum amps for power transmission ng no. 14 awg is 5.9amps. Maganda gamitin mo 12 or 11.

Refer to this chart: <click here for link>

  • Question about the power source. I'm checking some electronics abroad and the source says 95-265 vac.
Can we plug this device to our 220 volt power line? TIA!

Assuming the electronics are multi-voltage that it should work on our 220V socket (they did a 20% plus and minus voltage from our 220v)

Pero ingat ka sa higher wattage items especially yung meron heating or freezing elements that you shpuld follow the amperage requirement
