  • Ano mga upcoming runs nyo?

    Tip ko lang for those who are running for fitness or weIght reduction. Try joining fun runs and have a target goal and train for it. Wether it's just to finish, or do a sub1 or a sub2 it doesn't matter as long as you have a goal. It is a good motivator and will help you focused. You can also use upcoming wedding or class reunion as a motivator. Just have a goal, that is important.

  • Kahit anong brand. Piliin mo yung dri-fit. Mas maganda kung may zippered pockets lagayan mo ng susi, pera, lisensya, energy bars/gels, atbp. Ayus yang size mo karaniwan yan yung mga naka sale. =)

    dati sa adidas marami akong shorts nakita mga big sizes na naka sale kaso i was not into running pa that time kasi i was living the sedentary lifestyle pero now after nagka sakit at nabigyan ng chance na mabuhay my doctor strongly advised me to have an exercise routine . now na naghahanap na ako ng running shorts eh wala na ako makita.

  • it's an alternative to other normal shorts since maikli din sya at magaan unlike basketball shorts.

    Tingin ka lang sa mga sports stores. Pwede din sa department stores. Kahit yung mga fight shorts ng mma pwede rin. Basta manipis at di mabigat pag nabasa ng pawis.

  • regarding carbo loading(e.e. 21k), nakaka tulong ba talaga ? meron kasi ako tendency(pasintabi po) na mag pooh while sa nag start na ng run(regular) though naka pooh po ako 1st thing pag gising sa umaga mga 4am. Though daily routine ko na, pooh around 4am. Minsan, meron pa 2nd batch pooh and dun ako nag aabort ng run most of the times. kasi pag nag carbo loading baka lang ma abort run on proper race day.

    I had the same tendency during the race. so far after 2 running events, hindi ko na naexperience. before D day kasi, nagbabawas na ako.

    Pwede. Nakapagregister sila kahapon. Just FYI.
  • You carbo load before race day. For 21K you may carbo load one day before. Pwde ring two days before. Ako I don't carbo load at all for 21k. Sapat na yung one week taper to store glycogen.

    Basic pre-race nutrition. The morning of the race don't eat too much. Avoid dairy foods (like milk) or anything that can upset your stomach. You should have a practice race. One or two weeks before the race do everything you plan on doing come race day. Including the night before.

    maraming salamat. usual daily run ko kasi around 5am so di talaga ako nag ti-take ng breakfast. newbie pa ako, joined once milo 10k only 2 years ago. have not decided to join a local 21k(cagayan de oro) though aim ko lang to finish it. ilang days ba usual rest na prior to race day ? daily kasi ako nag babawas and takot ako mag carbo load baka during the race (day) mangyari. ano ba basic pre race nutrition ?

  • The rule of thumb is do whatever you always do when you run. Do not try new things on the day of the race or even the week preceding that. Kung ano nakasanayan mo ok na yun. Dapat kung mag experiment kayo ng bagong pagkain or training do it a month before the actual race. Pwede two weeks before basta di drastic.

    I also do not eat before I run in the morning. Milo or kape lang. Pero kapag lalagpas ng 90 minutes I also eat something small portion lang. Otherwise kakalam ang sikmura ko by two hours.

    10k no need to carbo load. 21k carbo load ka pero hinay lang, otherwise baka fats ang maipon syo sa halip na glycogen. Yung rest prior to rest day, di naman talaga total rest yan. Read up on tapering, google mo na lang. Basically, you just dial down your training to give your body time to heal and recuperate to reap the full benefits of your training. Babawasan lang, hindi ka titigil.

  • Ok lang maulan wag lang sobrang buhos na soaking wet, gaya kaninang umaga. Bigat ng sapatos kapag na soak ng tubig.

  • Naranasan ko na din yan soaking wet from start to finish. Isa sa Moa at isa nun Cebu Marathon 2015 ata.

    Libre hydration all the ways eh. titingala ka lang sa langit. hehehe

    thanks. di ako milk or coffee drinker. should i decide to join the 21k, concern ko lang effect ng carbo loading dun sa possible "pooh" during the race. ingat nga ako to experiment on food/etc. do taking energy bars/gels during the race really work ? do you still do your regular run a day before the race ?

    I use to jog weekends sa Elliptical Circle/UP on Sundays.
    Stopped because of work. Need to rest a lot on weekends.

    Recently wala nang trabaho so I plan to resume weekend runs. Mga 2-3k weekly, kaso
    tagulan na. Sometimes I can run around the subdivision kung cloudy lang.

    Read up on tapering. Google mo na lang para mas maintindihan mo at medyo mahabang topic din kasi. Yes I will still run on Saturday. Pero easy run lang kapag nagkita kita pa mga tropa runners may kasamang lakad na lang yan.

    Wag kang kakain ng marami a day before the race. Do small frequent meals. Nagtataka lang ako bakit nagkakaproblema ka sa bowel movement baka may IBS ka?

    Naranasan ko na din yan soaking wet from start to finish. Isa sa Moa at isa nun Cebu Marathon 2015 ata.

    Apektado pacing/oras ko nyan. Although baka ma-offset kasi hindi mainit. So lalabas ganun pa rin. The best for me is kapag mahinang ulan lang. Di soak ang shoes, at malamig.

    Yes. Kaninang umaga tumakbo kami lakas ng ulan, baha pa sa kalsada. Wala namang problema sa ulan. Don't wear thick cotton socks. Pag-uwi ligo then off to work.

    thanks. around 20% most of the time lang nangyayari yung pooh thing and it only happens during a run/jog. btw,napansin ko lang, ngayong nagka edad na ako(late 40's), parang wala na akong na experience na muscle sores unlike nung teenager pa ako.
