Any recommended store po?

  • Hi guys, any inputs about Canon 80D vs Nikon D7200?
  • ^if its your first time getting a camera just get the one that you can afford.
  • @Sir Grafox17

yung officemate ko sir yung nagtatanong. He would be coming from Canon's 1200D. Medyo caught between 80D and D7200, so he asked me for inputs here. :)
  • upgrading gears wont necessarily improve shots.
  • ^

    very true.
  • @grayfox17 and mark_alice2127

thank you very much for the motivation. I actually agree that it's the Indian and not the bow and arrow. hehe. but feature wise and for bang for the bucks, which would you prefer and why? :D

Gear choice is something that cannot be answered by others for him/her, it should be something to find out for themselves.

Different horses for different courses. Technically, yes MAY improvement sa pag upgrade mula Canon 1200D to a Canon 80D or Nikon D7200 especially sa functionality.

Malaki ang improvement sa AF speed, AF accuracy, white balance accuracy, speed of operation dahil sa external buttons, image quality due to the updated sensors, exposure latitude, etc etc BUT your friend would need to know how to utilize those advantages over sa Canon 1200D

Canon 80D vs D7200? Body wise I think mas maganda ang D7200 since dahil sa 24mpx Sony sensor na gamit nya and Canon's image sensor is lacking compared to its peer's. Plus may Nikon 3D tracking ang D7200 at Multi-CAM 3500DX II module ang gamit nya from what I remember is almost the same AF module ng D810/D4/D4s

That Canon 70-200L F4 is one of the best AF lens I've used.

Flash system, almost the same sila IMHO.

After experiencing shooting with m43/APSC/FF/MF. I'd say APSC is the best compromise for IQ and size unless na ang FF mo ay Sony A7/A9 series (heck even the Pentax KP has better IQ than most Canon FF!). MF is still the best pagdating sa IQ lalo na may $$$ ka pang gastos.

BTW bakit sya mag upgrade ng 1200D nya? Ano ba kinukuhan nya?
  • Im so glad i sold my gears.

Magastos ang hobby na to and having the latest gears in the market will not magically improve your bad shots nor will it turn a casual shooter to a pro - you just happen to be a person who owns a NEW camera. That's it. And all photogs who have a good grasp about this craft knows this by heart - hobbyist man or pro. I have to be blunt about this kasi some people just treat their camera like an expensive bling just for the sole purpose of showing off.

So let me just go out and say this na lang din, not many shooters truly realize that having a good understanding of the core basics of this craft goes a really long way. Kahit ano pa gamit mo basta alam mo tumimpla ng exposure ayos na, pproblemahin mo na lang is how to adjust accordingly based on the situation you're in.

btw, this is just my personal rant lang naman and I am not asking for any criticism nor trying to get into an argument with anybody. I do welcome a healthy discussion though.

  • I was in the same boat, i have the Nikon D3300, i was thinking of upgrading to the D7100. But then i thought, what i do is mostly street photography anyway and a bigger and bulkier dslr won't help me (compact camera is the more preferred camera in street photography). Yes, the D3300 is an entry level dslr, but the image quality is at par or even better than the D7100. Decided to upgrade my pc na lang para di mahirapan sa lightroom, Bought the 50mm f1.8G Prime as well.

  • more on gimik lang mga cam phone na f1.8, can never match a 50mm prime.
  • True.
  • I use my 50mm for street photography.

  • i never attempted doing street photog here in urban manila.. masyado delikado.
Either way, you can always use your legs naman to adjust on your preferred working distance.
  • @Scandinavian

Nope, tamang tama lang. I like the distance ratio to the subject. Even on a dx camera like mine, works great.

My street photos on flickr, taken mostly with the Nikon D3300 + 50mm f1.8G

  • ^ser since you like doing street, try shooting from the hip instead of putting the viewfinder to your eyes.
  • ^
