  • Hi! Not sure if this is the right place to ask, but having trouble running the Steam version of Shadow of the Tomb Raider. Just got the Definitive edition of the game and when I run it I simply get the prompt that Steam is launching the game and then nothing.

The game just runs in the background - as in nasa task manager sya and walang error message lumabas or anything. All my other games work fine. I can't even get into the game even when I switch to it in the taskbar. Tried launching the game with -fullscreen parameter and still no dice. Only way to shut it down is to force shutdown sa task manager. Pero no error messages. Steam even logged me a playing the game for almost an hour na, when most of the time puro restart lang ginawa ko.

Running a Razer Blade 15 with the ff specs:
i7-9750H (CPU has a -135mV undervolt, but I don't think that has anything to do with it)
RTX2060 (updated to the latest drivers last night)
    16GB RAM
Windows 10 64-bit (fully updated as of last night)

Read in the steam forums to try installing VC redistributables, which I did, pero wala rin.

Heh, these are the hassles that kind of remind me why I quit PC gaming awhile back :P

Welp. Figured out what caused my problem: It was displaying on Monitor 2 running on the integrated graphics (I have no idea how it happened honestly).

Anyways, after deleting and reinstalling the game plus reinstalling the Geforce drivers, game is running perfectly.
  • Good pm mga bossing compatible ba yung gtx 560 ti or higher gtx series sa mobo ko msi 785gm-e65 mobo? thanks po sa mga sasagot. Godspeed
  • @archiekinss
    pwedeng pwede
isa kong pc G41 ang board tapos GTX 760 ang video card
  • It’s me again.
Board na ba problem kapag mag oon then off? Or baka faulty ram slots or ram na? Bootloop minsan, minsan nag oon for 20-30 mins then mag rerestart. Working both ung Ram modules ko.

  • I have this issue sa monitor ko. after ko i on yung PC, the monitor will just display the manufacturer's logo (which is normal) but will fail to proceed to windows. naka hang na lang siya. but you will hear the windows' sound loading in the background. Sometimes, distorted yung image ng logo. I have to turn it off and on several times sa surge protector before siya papasok sa windows.

What do you think is the problem? repairable kaya ito?

    @Kimetsu

this is a common HDMI issue, if your looking elsewhere, this is also very common on game console specially ps3 and ps4 with defective HDMI.

HDMI is designed to be hot-plug but unfortunately with this HDMI frying issue, you should turn off all the devices before messing with HDMI cables, make sure that the cable is snag fit as well.

there's a 5v 50ma power on HDMI port, of course most of the TV standard dont follow that standard and instead throw something like 5v 2amps on it, this is for the CEC support for HDMI to work properly or for the HDMI dongles that is self-powered to work properly.

Ano po kaya pwede gawin? Forever na yatang d magagamit HDMI :(
I made sure naman na nakasalpak ng ayos yung HDMI, both from octagon yung isang HDMI tapos Lazada (Vention) naman yung isa
in your case the motherboard of the TV needs a replacement, luckily that's only like 10-15% of the overall cost of the TV. So expect like 1-2k na gagastusin mo dyan.

Haven't tested out another gadget like PS4, TV box etc., with HDMI, pero someone from another thread said that Ps4 Pro is working.

  • Kapag kailangan ko i power on ang PC, need pindutin ng matagal ang power on switch para mag on ang PC. Minsan ok at nagpopower on agad. Minsan aantay ka ng more than 10 seconds bago mag on. Minsan kailangan pindutin ulit.
Ano kaya problema nito? PSU? Switch?
Kasi kung switch, dapat di na mag on. So tama ba na maaring PSU ang problema?
  • Dumb question: Can I run ethernet cables under the door?
  • @himura_drew
    oo naman
basta may clearance yung cable at hindi tatamaan
or maiipit pag binuksan/sinara yung pinto

  • Updated B450M MOBO won’t POST after force shutdown

Hello pc fanatics! I have this pc: RTX2070Super, Gigabyte b450m Pro mobo, corsair vengeance pro 16gb 3200 mhz, AMD 5 3600x, and Seasonic focus gold 750. Yesterday I was shutting down my PC, when it suddenly lagged like crazy, just slow display on the screen but no BSOD or that robotic sound when your pc crashes, so I waited for it to finish shutting down. When it finally did, I noticed the LED lights in my case still are not turned off. So that’s when I force-d shutdown my computer ( I held on to the power button of my case until it completely shutdown). But now it won’t boot or post at all. I’ve had this computer for the last 6 months and have had no issues at all. So I’m pretty sure it’s not the MOBO needing to be flashed for an update.

    So here’s what I tried:
    - I cleaned the dust inside the case
    - I reseated my processor
    - I changed the pcie port for my GPU
    - I removed the cmos battery and re-inserted it after 5 minutes
    - I tried booting it up with no ram
    - I tried booting it up with one stick of ram
    - I tried switching the placement of my ram
    - I tried booting it up with no GPU but my aux was inserted so I can hear the windows boot sound (but there was no boot at all)
    - I tried removing all connections for 1 hour and replugging it all in to see if it will boot ( still won’t).
    - I tried removing the bios battery for 20 minues and putting it back and try to boot, still won’t work.
    - I tried booting without the GPU

What happens when I try to boot is this: all fan led lights will turn on, my cpu fan will turn on, my gpu fans will turn on but the led light will not, all the mobo rgb will also turn on, however after a few minutes my gpu fans will completely stop and the red led signals for the motherboard blinks from vga to dram to cpu but the boot light will never turn on.

It can be seen here :

Why do you think this happened? Is my motherboard fried? Should I RMA it? Any help or suggestions will be greatly appreciated! Thanks so much!

P.s sorry for shit formatting i’m on mobile
  • @Allenind
Have you tried using another PSU? (Just to eliminate the possibility that it may the culprit)
Have you tried open bench testing? Just the mobo, procie, ram, psu and GPU (and monitor, of course). Once you have removed those parts from your casing, you might want to check for burned or other abnormal marks on the PSU connection, PCIe slots, even the procie pins or the underside of the mobo. It's a bit of a hassle, but that's what I would do. :)
Basically it's a process of elimination, and keeping track of the good parts from the bad, but this means you must have some extra known working parts.

My gut tells me it's either the mobo, procie or PSU (hehe sorry for the long post)
  • @Agimat J haven’t tried that because I don’t have any spare parts, but I plan to do that by bringing it to the nearest pc part shop, maybe easy pc in Sucat. But upon my inspection because I cleaned the whole rig yesterday there were no burned parts and the ram and procie pins looked good, also the cpu slot and the cpu it self there were no bent pints. Thank you for replying!
  • ***SOLVED*** turns out my PSU wire that connects to the socket is faulty, it doesn’t give enough power to the mobo. Thanks everyone for all your help!
  • Ah good to hear it's not the motherboard or the procie that was defective.
Was that PSU socket wire repairable/replaceable? Or did you decide to replace the whole PSU?

  • The staff at EASYPC Sucat was kind enough to give me one, I tipped him generously for the top tier service!
  • @Allenind
    That's good to hear.
  • Hi mga ka TPC, pa help naman po. I recently installed epic games launcher this morning, since I got a free copy of kingdom come deliverance. After siguro less than a minute nung nag start download nung game, nag freeze PC ko. So nag reset ako. Then after nun, ayaw na niya mag boot ng ayos, stuck lagi siya sa black, or blank loading screen. Minsan nakaka abot naman siya sa desktop home, then after a while mag freeze ulit siya or sudden shut down.
    Pc specs:
    I5 6400
    Gigabyte GA B250M D3H
    Hyperx fury 2 x 4gb ram
    Zotac Gtx 1050ti
Silverstone strider essential 500W 80+ white
    2x 500gb HDD
    Running on win 10
Only thing I tried so far is resitting the ram's to other slot.
I built my PC 2017 pa, running smooth and never encountered any problem until now.

So my what could be the problem in my pc?
Appreciate any feedback and thank you very much.

Start by removing one component like the GPU, then see if the system runs stable.
  • ^
Have you tried booting from a different device, like a Linux live CD/USB?
  • try checking your hdd.
  • Thanks for the replies, I got my problem fixed. Was able to boot into safemode after several attempts, and did a windows reset and now my PC is running fine.

Back up your important data. The black screen upon login may have been caused by data corruption on the hard disk.
For example LAN driver dalawa yung available brand sa acer downloads "killer" and "realtek".

found the right driver, thanks for below reply @awake

Get the Hardware ID of the LAN device: <click here for link>

If it starts with PCI\VEN_10EC, then it's Realtek.
