I see. I've read na nakakasira daw ng HDD ung mga switches, so I wanted a second opinion. I don't really believe it since it's just a switch and I won't be flipping states while power is on, but still.

    Anyway, thanks!
  • @bum4now

  • Good Evening mga ka-TPC,

Help lang po. Meron po kaming 2 computers sa bahay, and it's connected to separate wall sockets via power strips.

For some reason, simultaneously nag sstop minsan ung mouse namen pareho, exactly at the same time. Mag sstop sya mga 1 second then gagana ulit. Di naman nag fflicker ung electricity namen sa bahay so I don't know what's going on.

Mouse lang tlga problema, ung other peripherals nag wwork naman flawlessly.

Can anyone help me out? Thanks!
  • That sounds bizarre but maybe you can provide the following information:
    - wired or wireless mouse?
    - gumagamit ba kau ng citrix or other virtual environment? Example is for work
    - can you try disconnecting both PC's from the internet and network and reply back if this still occurs
  • ^ well, regardless if this is wired or wireless. USBs are vulnerable against interference, it actually happens a lot on most USB devices causing the USB controller to reset the entire BUS. So when that happens, the system is basically doing a unplug and plugging devices again but done very fast.

the only way to avoid this is basically a clean power, by means of clean is basically using a Online type UPS. the only way to avoid this entirely is basically use a PS/2 Mouse and Keyboard. Ancient as they look but these ports are damn reliable.

  • Meron bang data recovery technician dito na board repair level? I have a screwed HDD pero I'm 100% sure yung board niya yung problem at hindi yung internal platters. I tried Google pero parang super high end yung mga company na nagseservice, mas mahal pa compared to Louis Rossman/Northridge Fix/etc lmao.
  • with the follow up on my Optical Drive emulator on Android device using Drivedroid. Unfortunately I have to give up my spare phone so I can give it to my niece so he can use it for online classes. Still! I need some sort of Optical Drive emulator. And this guy saved me using the cdrom_gadget release. <click here for link>

works fine so far for all my ISO needs, only cost me like 1600pesos for the OLED HAT and Pi zero (minus the 128GB uSD card since I already have that).

So I still have a optical drive emulator on hand, this time its in pseudo-flash drive size so I can finally plop this thing on my hand PC repair toolkit.

So far, the only issue I stumbled so far is if the USB power is cut-out during computer reboot, but luckily, I have a split type power for this kind of scenario. So I can just plug it in using a tiny power bank I have (that runs on single 18650 battery. but luckily not all PC cuts off the USB power during reboot so this is a minor issue for me.

  • Hello,

See video for sample issue with system 1.

    <click here for link>

Yung sa video is system 1. Kung GPU, RAM or MOBO. Sa system 2 pagka-crash nya 1 long beep 2 or 3 short beeps pero wla ng video out, tapos parang naka full blast yung mga fans and black screen lang pero naririnig ko umabot sa login screen ng windows. According sa AMI bios codes its either GPU (vram) issue or system RAM issue. Pretty random yung crash pag naglalaro. Minsan instant minsan after 20-30 mins pa bago mag crash. Voltage, Power draw and Temps within limit naman bago mag crash.

    System 1:
    CPU: AMD Ryzen 3 3100
    RAM: 16GB 2x8 3200
PSU: Seasonic 550W with 45.5A on 12v rail
    MB: Gigabyte A520M DS3H AC REV.1 [BIOS F13i]
    GPU 1: Gigabyte Radeon™ RX 5500 XT D6 4G (rev. 2.0) = Fail
    GPU 2: Sapphire Nitro+ RX 480 4GB = Pass

    System 2:
    CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600X
    RAM: 16GB 2x8 3600
PSU: Seasonic 620W with 48A on 12v rail
MB: Gigabyte B550 Aorus Elite REV.1 [BIOS F14c]
    GPU 1: Gigabyte Radeon™ RX 5500 XT D6 4G (rev. 2.0) =Fail
    GPU 2: Sapphire Nitro+ RX 480 4GB = Pass

    TS:
    - Setting PCIE x16 to Gen 3, 4 and auto.
    - Enable/Disable XMP (sa Giga na MB XMP instead of DOCP)
    - Auto/Manual Infinity Fab
    - Swap RAMs from System 1 and system 2
    - Memtest each stick pass naman
    - Stress test Furmark pass naman
    - Update driver (GPU, Chipset used DDU before reinstall)
    - New Mobo (Gigabyte B550M DS3H AC), same issue.
    - Auto OC (game mode) sa Ryzen Master

    Crashes on games like:
A Plague Tale: Innocence, PC Building Simulator, Need for Speed: Most Wanted (2012)

    All good on games like:
Genshin Impact, Civilization 6, World War Z (Benchmark), NFS (2015), Dirt Showdown, Shadow of the Tombraider (Benchmark), Crew 2

So what you guys think? TIA.

  • Given that the 2 systems work w/o issues when the problematic GPU is not installed logically points to the GPU as the cause. It's only because the RMA na ung GPU that puts doubt on the other components in the PCs.

    - Same lang ba ung issue before and after the RMA?
    - Any chance na baka binalik lang nila ung same GPU unit after the RMA?
    - From the video, nag-black screen then no signal during the benchmarks. When this happens, frozen na ba ung system? Can you still toggle the caps lock light?
    - Did you try the other output ports on the 5500? Likewise, another HDMI/D-Port Cable? Just ruling out possibilities
  • @bum4now

    - Same lang ba ung issue before and after the RMA?

Actually inabot ng 3 RMA's ito. Yung 1st and 2nd RMA ko kasi sa kanila sabi nila tested "Good" daw kaya they gave me back the same GPU which still showed the same exact issue. Dun lang sa 3rd RMA lang pinalitan yung unit which is may konting improvement. Nakaka-complete na sya ng mga benchmark as long as naka set sa mobo yung PCIe gen 4 nya if not it will always crash. Sa Heaven benchmark actually always crashes after scene 17. Basta after scene 17 wla na crash na. Unfortunately di ko magawa yun sa system 1 which has the A520 chipset kasi hanggang PCIe 3.0 lang sya.

    - Any chance na baka binalik lang nila ung same GPU unit after the RMA?

Totally different unit naman. Serial numbers are different. Sent them a lengthy letter along with the RMA so that they can atleast try and replicate the issue. Pero not sure if they did.

    - From the video, nag-black screen then no signal during the benchmarks. When this happens, frozen na ba ung system? Can you still toggle the caps lock light?

Not frozen, totally restart sya. Pag nag black screen yun total restart sya magisa with 1 long beep 2 or 3 short beeps. According sa AMI bios codes its either GPU (vram) issue or system RAM issue. Then all the fans will run at full blast pero maririnig ko pa sya na umabot sa Windows login screen pero no video out na talaga.

    - Did you try the other output ports on the 5500? Likewise, another HDMI/D-Port Cable? Just ruling out possibilities

Unfortunately the 5500XT only has 1 HDMI and 3 Display Ports. Wala akong monitor na may DP so ang na try ko lang is ibang HDMI cable and ibang monitor pero ganun pa din. Inisip ko na nga din PSU pero yung RX480 kasi requires more power (50W more) than the 5500XT and wla naman issue sa RX480 so baka di naman siguro? hahaha di ko na alam. So tried it with and without the PSU extensions pero ganun pa din. Swapped GPUs na din. If I use the RX 480 on System 1 it works and fails on the 5500XT same din sa system 2.

    Thanks.

  • @Deadmau5

Maybe try mo rin check mga youtube video on replacing thermal paste on GPU. Although pwede mo pagawa sa pc shop, most gpus will have conductive stickers for memory and other parts. Owners will usually put more care into making sure everything is done properly, lalo na kung OC ka.

You'll see what they're replacing and you can bring conductive stickers and have the shop replace those too. Ideally, ayusin nila na nakikita mo
  • Came Across this on YouTube video:

The guy said at around 7:30 that there is an initialization time/delay after swapping between cpu and apu. From watching the video, it looks like it might be true, it really did take a while before the video kicked in.

What do you guys think? Personally, I think this is very interesting.

    -----
  • ^i assumed updated/installed lahat ang drivers ng bagong motherboard and peripherals mo?
  • @statix kailangan po ba mag re-update ako ng gpu, cpu and such na driver kahit na mobo lang pinalitan ko?
  • ^absolutely YES paps for system compatibility.
  • I see try ko po ngayon. bali pano po ba proper step derecho download lang driver tapos mapapatungan na yung old? sorry sa question hehe
  • haay ganun pa din po ang bagal pa din ng pc performance, what I did is nag reformat na lang ako ng OS then install all the drivers.

Here is what I notice ang bagal ng takbo ng cpu fan ko hindi siya normal speed di kaya may connection to sa power issue or sa mobo? 2nd hand lang kasi mobo ko kahapon nabili.
  • @crazyone03

    1. Monitor CPU speed and temperature.
    2. Check HDD performance (it's more likely that the HDD is the cause of a slow computer)
  • @crazyone03

anong particular model ng gigabyte motherboard ang gamit mo? better share your pc specs para ma-address ng maayos ang slow down isyu
  • ganito po kasi nangyari dito bali smooth naman performance niya dati tapos naging maluwag na yung cable ng mobo (24 pin atx) kasi unting galaw namamatay pc, so inipit ko yung cable para bumaluktot pero after ilang days nasira na and eto naging reason para masira yung old mobo ko h97m-d3h.

@taurexn eto po specs ko, nakakahiya man i-post bulok lang and oldies lol.

    mobo: gigabyte h81m-ds2
    cpu: intel 4460
    ssd: samsung 860 evo
    psu: seasonic m12ii
  • boss @awakeruze
#2 no issue with ssd and hdd, upon testing status: ok and no error sa disk check.

pero parang nakita ko na yung problem, nag try ako mag run ng hwmonitor and lumalabas na yung cpu temp is... package, core #0, core #1, core #2, core #3 = ranging from 96-100c in an idle state.

    question:
  • ero parang nakita ko na yung problem, nag try ako mag run ng hwmonitor and lumalabas na yung cpu temp is... package, core #0, core #1, core #2, core #3 = ranging from 96-100c in an idle state.

Sounds like the CPU cooler is not mounted correctly.
Also, don't use the cheap china thermal paste na kulay white. Parang 20-30 pesos ung 1 tube.
  • Sounds like the CPU cooler is not mounted correctly.

  • ^
Don't sweat it. Everyone's a noob at the start. :P
  • At least cooler lang. And we sometimes learn best from our mistakes
