Globe@Home GFiber Broadband Thread

  • @Prominence19

I suggest huwag muna po kayong magpalipat from DSL to Fiber. Kailangan pang i-reconnect o turn on/off Wi-Fi para maayos.
  • @Kenjiekenjii

ano po yung RTO? sorry po baguhan pa sa mga ganito. pero yung time frame po ba matagal ang hintayan? para po at least may idea if ever mag papalit on summer or semestral break po.
  • @prominance19
  • @Prominence19

    RTO = Request Timed Out

Just a heads up lang sa iba. Ito lang iyong naging problema ko after makabitan ng fiber line, pero other than that solid naman iyong fiber connection.

    Note:
  • my friend nagpatulong mag pa setup ng internet nila since kinuha nila yung plan 4999 - 500mbps (+700 for static ip) bale tig 1.2k silang mag-aanak (5 sila).

luckily the technician was a nice guy and were able to setup the ONU to bridge mode (kasi naka avail naman daw ng static ip), and with pfsense as the main router ayun hati silang 5 mag-aanak na tig 100mbps (per family). we already pre wired per house bago pa pumunta yung installer ng globe and it was hidden properly (hindi kita sa labas) dahil alam nyo naman bawal daw may kahati.

edit: they were using Ultera as their internet lahat silang 5, tapos biglang naglatag ng linya yung globe sa lugar nila ayun lipat agad. after that history na yung ultera nila at pinaputol na.

  • @polka

What if other families are not using their allocated 100Mbps? Diba pwede they take over it until other users start using?

Parang... minimum 100Mbps per family if all users are maximing out Mbps but if only 1 family uses it at a time then they get the full 500Mbps
  • @rudy
    @Kenjiekenjii

noted po sa mga advices niyo thank you po! since planning palang kami baka po pag nag karoon ng sembreak or summer break nalang po kami mag pakabit since may mga chances ng RTO and other stuff po. thank you po sa mga info niyo!
  • @limangG

actually ganyan din sinabi ko but that's their mag-kakamag anak's decision (they were aware the thing called lag, or slow down), but I also suggested to lift the bandwidth cap during midnigth so kung meron silang gustong i-download and they take that decision instead, they can do that in that time and can use the entire 500mbps. but after that strict to 100mbps lang. after all meron din kasi silang mga anak na mga gamers din.

its been like 2 weeks I think ng nakabitan sila, and they already consumed like 700gigs of data, at wais din sila pati netflix pinag hatian na rin nila, at hindi rin ma detect ng netflix na shared yung account kasi under same IP address parin naman yung connection ng mga netflix account na gamit nila.

edit: they also tested na walang bandwidth limiter, and guess what, there's a occasional ping spike and of course they dont want that so, meh set the limiter and boom, its fixed. in reality they only getting around 95mbps per family, to account for the buffer bloat allowance.

  • Unhappy with your Globe? You may want to look elsewhere for the service you deserve.

You are probably out of your 24/30/36 month contract by now or nearing its end.

As early as 30 days before your contract ends you may want to start applying with other ISPs/telcos that may have laid down fiber along your street in the past 2-3 years.

Other than the standard application form asking for your install address provide them also with your GPS coordinates.

All ISPs/telcos have an online inventory database of their fiber ports that are assigned a GPS coordinates.

Giving them your install address' GPS coordinates makes their jobs easier/faster in locating where you are.

To find your your GPS coordinates see the instructions below

    https://support.google.com/maps/answer/18539

In my experience giving GPS coordinates results in a feedback as early as 5 mins later or as late as within 48 hours.

The last thing you want to happen is wait for 2 weeks and find out that there are no fiber ports for you.

Be aware also that fiber ports may be physically filled up in a certain location but subscribers have long ago terminated the service. So the ISP/telco must verify physically if all fiber ports are currently being subscribed to by the account holder.

Quality of Service (QoS) of ISP/telcos varies from street to street, barangay to barangay, town to town, city to city and region to region.

So the best person to ask if ISP/telco is "ok ba" is to ask your neighbor and not on TipidPC.

Papaschedule daw ng tech for 3~5 days. Ano kaya problem nito?
  • may naka experience na ba dito converting personal DSL plan to corporate fiber plan? may mga additonal cost ba?
  • @stapo34

You'll need a Globe myBusiness account manager for that to process your request.

The form you will be given is called a TRansfer of OWnership (TROW) form.

This form will allow the transfer of landline # from personal account to business account.

There are no additional cost. Personal and business plans cost largely the same at 100Mbps and below. Anything above that and the monthly service fee diverges.

If you have a business mobile # account and upgrade to a business fiber account then you are entitled to 50% off for the first 6 months of fiber.

If I knew that offer was being made I would have availed of that promo for 1 location that actually had Globe fiber.

mura din kasi, bali 1500 for 50mbps fiber plan.
  • @stapo34

You can only transfer account name for free if the account is out of contract.

If you transfer your personal account to your company then they're the account holder for it for the next 24 months.

    Is the 1,500/month for 50Mbps a cost sharing? I know for Globe it's 2,499/month for 50Mbps.
  • @limangG

so totally different plan etong fiber na ikakabit if ever? at kelangan ko ipa terminate yung personal account, or hayaan na doble yung net namin sa bahay?

not sure about cost sharing? actually 2,000/month yung naka advertise na plan 50mbps sa amin, tapos may 500 subsidy pa.
  • @stapo34

If your personal account is under contract then you can opt for an additional account under your company name.

You can keep your personal account if you want to until the lock-in is completed.

Could you take a photo of the Globe 2,000/month 50Mbps plan? The 1,999/month 50Mbps plan is from Sky and Stream Tech.

Your employer wants a receipt under their company name if they were to pay for your internet.
  • @limangG

yung plan matrix sinend lang nung HR namin eh. baka discounted price siya since corporate. and pldt, globe and coverge yung offer same prices.

  • @stapo34

I've applied for dozens of corporate plans and yours is really cheap.

I think part of the cost is subsided by your employer.

Di ko kasi sure kung nablock ako or wala lang talaga available for support since yung last time na tumawag ako sa kanila eh nadisconnect ako twice after ng verification. Never got rude and even told them that my calls got disconnected twice in a row.

  • @kacpuerto

Piss poor coordination of fiber port inventory team with marketing.

You're correct. Sana the ISPs would provide a list of available ports per street so it matches with the number of new accounts they are targeting for.

Ideally would be that they also collect names for a waitlist so they can have a more accurate basis where to roll out new networks.

Right now the most congested of areas have no pending additional hardware while the least congested have dozens of available ports.
  • Guys

Help naman, kapag ba nag report sa APP ng globe sa phone and you select the schedule for technician visit, wala ba talaga sila binibigay na reference number? If wala, how can I get one? Need kasi ng proof for Work From Home.
  • first time to notice after nagpa upgrade ako to plan 2899 from plan 2499. na cha charge ako ng unli call to globe/tm for 99 pesos :( ang problema, wala naman sumasagot sa email nor sa CSR nila

    Supplychain issue

Businesses will always look for the cheapest/fastest solution.

That's why the anti-redtape law is rather useless as it does not have a procedure that fosters that outcome.
  • Hi. Im currently a Globe at Home Go Big 1899 subscriber (50mbps 600GB). If I upgrade to Go Big 2499 (100mbps 1TB) or Unli 50mbps at 2499, will my lock-in period reset or mag continue lang yung current lock-in ko?
  • ^
    Reset lock in period.
