MAYBE they already loaded default working config on newer modems..
I tried to reset my ZTE F660 before after securing a backup. But after mareset, connected na siya agad on same VLAN at di ko na nagamit yung backup. I just had to reconfigure yung SSIDs, keys, etc. Pero siyempre risky parin at chambahan sa dami ng modem versions nila. So stick parin tayo sa title ng thread just to be safe.

^ Tinry ko sa firefox pero ganun pa rin. Napansin ko kapag mga 1AM mabilis na magload, pero kapag umaga na mga around 9-10AM, doon uli bumabagal. Most likely sa end ni converge na 'to kasi kapag mobile data naman mabilis.
try mo mag install ng opera gx paps sobrang ganda hindi makain sa ram may built in VPN pa baka eto maka solve ng problem mo -
Ang alam ko pag GPON na yung modem mo, ok lang magreset. Yung mga EPON ONUs yung hindi pwede ireset.
But yes, if there is no urgent need to reset, don’t! And buy a third party router if di ka satisfied sa performance ng onu para wala ka need galawin sa settings niya and di mo masira accidentally -

Yung Huawei modem ko may nakalagay sa box na it is for Converge. So malamang yung firmware nya ay hardcoded na prior to leaving the factory. Sa menu nya meron din ACS settings. Mukang yan yung autoconfig nya. May encoded username and password.

Their provided modem/router is good for personal use on small areas. If you are sharing with housemates and have multiple devices, start with a router with at least 128mb ram, 5G, QoS, Guest, and least 4 antennas. Any brand would do.
For future proofing, invest in a mesh router or find those with MU-MIMO and 256/512mb ram for smooth simultaneous HD streaming and low latency gaming. The cheapest brands are Newifi, Xiaomi and Tenda.

Wifi extender is a no-no for option. Either buy a better router or mesh. Sayang lang pera.
Downsides ng triple at double NAT? Does this mean di parin ako makakavisit ng ibang island sa Animal Crossing? Sa Double NAT ng globe di pwede eh -
Tama si sir @LordStark. It's better to leave the modem's settings as it is and just buy a more powerful router that you can play with. An additional NAT just adds 1ms in latency. The lower latency that you could get in solely using the default modem/router is only useful when you're beside it. Then it adds even more latency and decreases speed every few meters away from it. So, a 1ms compromise in adding a new router is not that bad as compared to its benefits. Just connect from Lan1 to WAN port and you're done. Bridging is also useless in most cases as some who tried it found no noticeable effect.

Does anyone here uses Steam? Download speeds from PH servers are very slow again. Switched to SG, download speed goes back to normal.

Actually sayang din pera sa overpriced mesh bundle. Mas tipid pa maginvest sa isang 512mb ram main router, and utilize existing old routers (at least 64mb) as wired access points using same SSIDs in every room. Works like mesh. You may slowly change those old access points with newer ones overtime. What's important is your main router is already powerful to handle DHCP, QoS, etc.

I agree. The only change I made with my ZTE F670L is I disabled the Wi-Fi functionality. -
Hello! How’s the process for refund? 4 months na wala pa ring installation for us
July 23 - applied online
August 11 - for installation
August 18 - pumunta yung taga converge and we needed a conduit para mas malinis (we live a townhouse compound), so we signed a waiver. They left us a roll of the fiber cable that will be installed. Application was put on hold now.
Up to today - no updates from converge. -
Hello. Question lang po ulit. Nakabridge mode yung modem ko and Asus router gamit ko. Ok naman yung internet connection ko pero mabagal yung connection sa Steam and hindi makaconnect sa internet yung BPI app sa phone. Sa BPI site, mageerror siya at first pero magloload siya sa second try pero mabagal. Ito pa lang yung apps na nakita ko na nagkakaproblem. Natry ko na gumamit ng Google DNS (8.8.4.4) but same issue. Sana po may makatulong. Thanks.

I didn't apply through agent though. I tried cick2call but it doesn't work on all my devices (it just says in call but i cannot hear anything) and siyempre yung emails it takes 1 month for them to reply a general message.
nakakafrustrate lang since they collect payments even before installation -

The only way you can sort that out is by going sa office nila and saying your concern or try using click2call. When you use click2call, make sure the stable yung connection mo (in my case, it doesn't work kapag data lang yung gamit, it only works kapag nasa PC and Chrome browser dapat yung gamit). You can also talk via their hotline kaso sobrang magastos sa load since yung queue time sobrang tagal. If nag-email ka naman, it's pretty useless kasi sobrang bagal ng response. 2 weeks bago magreply. Hindi rin guaranteed na maasikaso nila. -

I noticed the Slow PH DL speeds in Steam to thus just left it at SG -
^Same. Even Riot servers are stupidly slow on Converge. Inabot ng half hour yung Valorant update ko na 1gb

For me pinaka ok in general is Asus. check mo na lang website nila to decide ano pinaka ok sa needa mo. If wala ka masyado kakalikutin, ok yung mga mesh pero medyo pricey. Alam ko marami gumagamit ng TP-Link pero I have never used it and di siya masyado sikat among popular tech reviewers so I cannot say -
actually, kahit dual-band yung Huawei replacement, mahina pa din for me yung signal nya kasi 2 antennas lang unlike dun sa gamit kong Tenda AC23 na 7 antennas. Same location mas malakas ang bato nung Tenda as tested.

ginawa ko lang kasi si disable WLAN sa HG8245H, LAN 1 of HG8245H to WAN Tenda AC11 then configure yung tenda as router. Iniisip ko lang kung pano i-bridge mode ung HG8245H para si Tenda na bahala mag DHCP.
Parang gagawing modem lang talaga si HG8245H. di ko sure kung nakakaapekto ung multiple networks sakin eh.

sorry just want to provide my thoughts about not getting a dual band onu device, if you can afford a higher tier plan then it means you have the budget to invest on a decent router which will have better features like Wifi 6, multiple antennas, etc... I do understand that higher tiers customers should get a better onu device as they are paying more.
personally, I immediately disable the wifi features on my onu device as I use my own router to share internet access in the house. I find it more secured and stable.
