  • nag iisip pa ko if worth mg 5600x from 3600 gaming on 1440p with 3070, though may mga nkita na ko benchmark pero paiba iba , eto kasi dilemna ko lage, nanghhnayang pako sa price difference ng 3070 vs 3080, pero kalaunan willing to spend more naman sa procie haha

yes its worth. I have both procie. 5600x @1440p with 1070 acceptable performance. yung 3600 is used sa mahabang creative works.
Im using Balanced now as default (dati merong option for Ryzen Balanced mode for Ryzen 3000 series)

@stocks.
  • Overkill ba ang 5800x for 1440p, 144hz gaming?
Or mag 5600x nalang? (Even yung 3900XT na clearance...)
Planning to pair it with 3070.

ang laging sagut dyan. dipende sa games.
kung pure gaming i would stick sa 5600x. babaa na daw ang prices ng 5000 series dahil dadame ang stocks. 3070 din ako sa 1440p.
para sakin more than that sayang pera na. not unless may gamet sya sayo. if may sobrang pera. pwedeng gamitin sa ibang luho mo sa buhay. if 1440p importante ang investment sa monitor.

  • ok kaya upgrade from 2700x to 5800x. gamit ko e msi b450m mortar. yung non-max. meron na yata bios update e.
  • @phoenix
165hz pero siniset ko lang ng 144hz

Thanks papi.

Quad core na kasi gamit ko ngayon and nabibitin nako from time to time. Baka kako pag nag 6 core ako, mabitin lang rin in a few years.

Kailan kaya bababa presyo ng 5800? Kukuha na sana ako this week...
  • ^sale sa tec*movers chinese new year sale, 23,500 ang 5800x pero tray type sya
  • ^sale sa tec*movers chinese new year sale, 23,500 ang 5800x pero tray type sya

Wala lang official warranty no...and may lead time 7-10 days...thanks sa info, i-weigh ko. Mura rin yung boxed...
  • @ronkx: For current games, ok na 5600X, tapos sabayan mo ng low latency, high frequency and at least dual rank per stick/4 ram sticks. Can't say about the future, medyo critical time kasi ngayon to upgrade dahil sumabay ang PS5/Xbox Series X consoles, di natin alam kung ano plano ng mga developers on how to maximize its hardware in the future.
Kung era pa din ng PS4/Xbox one, easily 5600X, 3600/10600K or even 3300X pwede pa.
Ako nag Ryzen 7 5800X for overall workload, sa games sobra na pero me special cases like console emulation. Basta aware ka na mainit ang 5800X due to its single CCD design and high default voltage
  • Speaking of temps...ok na ba 280 AIO or go full 360 na?
  • ^ako nga naka 120mm push pull AIO sa Ryzen 7 5800X lol, pag walang tweaks pumapalo 90C (26-28C ambient) sa aida64 stress test and ~80+ on heavy multithread tasks. Once nakalikot ang curve optimizer PBO2 and some PPT settings, bagsak ng~10C+ ang temps.

Based from what i read by default regardless of cooling, highly concentrated talaga kasi init ng single CCD ng 5800X tapos sinabayan pa ng very hight PPT of 500W (142 default for 105w tdp) and high voltage ng around 1.45V+
Yung position pa ng CCD is nasa upper left portion ng processor chip kaya hindi nama maximize ng coolers ang heat dissipation, me mga mods out there na ginagamit ang iba na i offset ang positioning ng amd coolers para naka focus on specific area ng cpu para mas optimal cooling.

Pag 65W 5600X naman wala issue sa init, same die siya ng 5800X but with 2 cores disabled kaya mas malamig.
  • Yung 5600X ko napansin ko medyo mainit. At stock settings, with the stock cooler umaabot ng 80C while gaming. I currently have a Kraken 280mm push/pull on it and temps are around 60-70C while gaming. Mas malamig yung 10700k ko with the same cooler even if overclocked at 5ghz all core. Was expecting better temps with the 5600X having a 65W TDP
  • ^are you running high performance mode in windows power management with the recent AMD chipset drivers? Tinanggal na ng AMD yung Ryzen profiles sa zen3 cpus nila and should work best using windows baalnced power mode.
Tried tweaking in UEFI and fiddling with PBO2 settings?
Yung dati kong gamit na 3300X na 65W TDP din mainit init din somehow, but nothing too hot to throttle

1440p to 4k invest more on gpu pag gaming. Lalo na pag 144hz+. CPU not really ok na yung 5600x. 5800x if you have money to waste kasi overpriced pa. If productive purpose mo like video editing, transcoding, etc. then get 5800x. The other cons of 5800x is high tpd meaning high temps. Not an issue if you don't care about those. Personally gusto ko efficiency low tpd/temps.
  • ^how about manual tweaks, disable core performance boost and pbo same lang din ba magiging temp

  • ^how about manual tweaks, disable core performance boost and pbo same lang din ba magiging temp

Yes pwede. Underclock, undervolt, cap boost. Bababa temps significantly.
  • @CrkDice: Use PBO 2 i feel that this is kind of mandatory for all ryzen 5000 users, use the new curve optimizer, put it on negative offset, this will give lower voltage/power, lower temps but higher clock boost, but just like overclocking, it's silicon lottery. You can tweak individual cores or all core
Mine is stable on negative 20 offset for all cores(max of 30). Yung iba ginagamit ibang software to detect on which negative offset for each core to obtain maximum efficiency.

If you want even lower temps without very big impact on performance, lower the PPT from 142 to 125 or lower depending on your preference. All these can be easily set on the UEFI and some can also be tuned in Ryzen Master
  • Depends on your board din and makers doing things right.

MSI for one is messy sa current bios releases. Thus I stay with Manual at this moment.

Better pa nga ang functions ng +500MHz Overdrive or whatever it's called sa MSI eh.. I can turbo to 5150MHz.
  • May ball park figure kaya kailan darating new stocks ng 5800x at baka bumaba presyo soon...hehe

  • @viperxtreme
good to know, mukang mas maraming tweakings sa 5000 ngaun, abang lang ako perfect timing to get one hehe

Im already using the beta version of this and very stable on my end so far.
  • Guys ask ko lang if hangang kelan yung +99 speedboost naten?
  • Speaking of temps...ok na ba 280 AIO or go full 360 na?

    same tayo. lol.

@viper- galing mo magpaliwanag. di puro benchmark hahaha. sana ol. gamet ko n yang bagong bios ng amd. mas ok ang voltage. so getting good temps at correspoding volts and speeds. pero syempre running at 100% util for a time would yield same temps @ stock.

Quad core na kasi gamit ko ngayon and nabibitin nako from time to time. Baka kako pag nag 6 core ako, mabitin lang rin in a few years.

hahahaha nakakatawa yung analogy. Sige convinced nako, 5800x it is.
  • ^ayun challenge accepted ba hehe.

6600K current CPU ko saka 1080ti...so long term talaga ako magpalitan hehe
  • gumanda temps ko sa curve optimizer pbo2 yung dating 67 to 72 degress ko now 62 to 66 degrees.
  • ^ i wish there is a good tool to test each and individual core stability for pbo2 curve optimizer, me option kasi to set each core curve instead of all core. Sa Ryzen Master makikita niya yung mga first best 2 cores. balita ko yung CTR 2/2.1 will have per core test, sana ma implement hehe
