Siguro pwede mo subukan bolt and nut/washer na kakasya.
2 kasi ung videocard ko then ginamit ko ung bago pag papasok sa windows nastock sa logo di tumutuloy.. as in stock lang then nagpalit ako videocard ganun padin :((
and last option ko is nag onboard ako ayon. pumasok pero pag pasok sa windows nganga red screen lang na parang onboard dump graphics card ang dating :( nag spray na ako ng WD40 sa board pero wala padin.. na encounter ko na to dati eh.. ang ginawa ko pinaluguan ko lang ung MOBO ko ng WD 40 then after 2days naayos sana may alam ka pong solusyon
  • Good day!
Gaano ba dapat kalakas case fan? haha, i just bought 4 deepcool Xfans (120mm) the other day, installed it in my PC and was, well a bit underwhelmed by it.

    PC setup:
    Thermaltake Versa H15
    1 exaust fans (rear)
    2 exaust fans (top)
    2 inflow fans (front)

connected all of the fans to the PSU so expecting them to run at max RPM

    Salamat! :)

One of the top quality fan / cooler makers is si Noctua. Macompare mo talaga sa generic case fan mabigat and matibay siya, altho siyempre may kasamang premium price.

Para sa middle ground in terms of price and performance ok naman yung Cougar Dual-X natry ko na yun.

IMO, mas maganda kapag 2 quality fans compared to 4 generic fans for intake / exhaust.
  • ^
Thanks! ill look into Cougar Dual-X fans.

Hmm, hingi pa po sana ako advice :)

im running a sapphire R9 290 tri X OC in my system. umaabot sya 82 degrees when bench marking and 75 when gaming heavily. (in my current 5 fan setup). If I were to change all my fans to cougar dual X fans will I see a significant difference in temperature? hehe, mahal din kasi 5 fans of cougar 380 x 5 = 1900

AFAIK mataas talaga temps ng R9 290 pero wala ako first hand experience so according to sa mga nabasa ko lang. 75-80c is still ok for R9 290 pag heavy gaming.

Pwede din na bumili ka na lang ng 2 or 3 high quality fans and gamitin yung xfan sa remaining. Put at least 1 good fan as exhaust and yung isa nagbblow ng fresh air (intake) sa ilalim ng GPU.

Di ko din masabi kung significant difference in temps so don't quote me on that haha. Basta lang dapat maganda yung airflow ng case: front / bottom as intake and back / top as exhaust.
  • ^
again thank you for the insight :)

hmmm, is it worth it to replace all my fan with good quality ones?
  • @gabugh

Personal opinion ko lang, rather than spending more money on expensive fans on a budget case... it's better to just upgrade your case instead. Yung Fractal Arc Mini R2 is one of the better Micro-ATX with good airflow at may kasama pa siyang 3 high quality Fractal Design fans. Baka mas sulit yun compared to buying 5 fans na worth Php 400 ~ Php 500 each. Also fully dust filtered pa ang case so less maintenance.

But having said that, sa tingin ko maganda na temps ng R9 290 TRI-X videocard mo considering ang R9 290 umaabot ng 80C ~ 90C while gaming. What you can do is optimize mo yung airflow ng Thermaltake Versa H15 by removing the harddrive cage then lipat mo yung harddrive sa 5.25-inch bays (kung wala kang ODD).

Kung talagang gusto mo magpalit ng fans, just replace the front intake fans and leave the exhaust fans as is. Take a look at Cougar Vortex HDB fans dahil parang poor man's Noctua fans sila :-)

    Thanks! :)

I'll also consider changing my case or changing my front intake fans. hehe :)

    - Cougar DualX 120mm
    - Thermaltake TT Riing 12 120mm

or meron pa bang mas magandang brand na ok yung performance ng fan?

EDIT: may nakita n pala ko magnetize filters, kaso mahal haha

  • hi masters,

    i recently build a HTPC.
    Specs:
    Case: Fractal Node 605
    AMD Phenome II x6
    mb: gigabyte AM3 board
    GPU: vapor x 5770
    RAM: gskill 2x2gb ram
disks: 500gb seagate and 2tb wd green
i know not the best specs for htpc pero old unit ko yan sayang naman kung di magamit.
Question is ano marerecommend nyong cpu cooler (hsf)
-last option ko ung low profile
-consider the case (CPU cooler compatibility: Approx 125mm with side-mounted fans - For coolers with top-mounted fans, Fractal Design recommends that you add at least 30 mm clearance for decent airflow)
-as of the moment using stock AMD fan

baka may marecommend kayo mga master
    Thanks in advance

  • @C4_ROCK

Sir check out the Noctua NH-U9S which is available locally for Php 2.5K. However you might need to do some resarch if you can mount the cooler rotated 90 degrees on your motherboard (for that sideways airflow) :-)

Edit: sideways orientation is not possible but still a good cooler for Fractal Node 605

I'd go with the Corsair H60. trusted brand with reviews to back it up.

Also yung Noctua aircoolers may 6 year warranty so may peace of mind ka talaga.

Sa opinion ko lang kung gagamit ka lang din ng AIO watercooler pang overclock ng Core i7-6700K, go for a 240mm model or yung high-end na 120mm model like the Corsair H80i GT. Yung pinaka affordable ngayon na 240mm AIO watercooler is ID Cooling FrostFlow 240L at only Php 3450 at maganda naman reviews so far :-)

  • ^ very interesting concept indeed! :D

    -- edited by tats25 on Jun 06 2016, 08:41 PM
  • ^Accidental damages are not covered by warranty. Only manufacturing defects are covered.
  • tats25
hindi applicable yan sa leaking kung All in one (AIO for short) package maliit ang tyansa na magkaleak unless may defect yung unit unlike costom loop cooling dun talaga maataas ang tyansa ng leaking

  • Hi! New here.

I just failed my first build because I screwed the 212x too tightly to the motherboard. The motherboard is pulled out and the decision for replacement, repair or no action is still on air. I was told that I have forgotten to put the rubber washers first before screwing the 212x in, but the cooler didn't came with said washers, not even the motherboard (h170 gaming 3), only the case (Define r5) has rubber grommets available which is used for the hard drives. It's the type where you insert the rubber washer/spacer/grommet into the hole. The burger type rubber washer, if you will.

I have looked around, well maybe not hard enough, and I can't find any rubber washers available for sale. Hoping you guys would point me to the right direction. I can buy the noctua ones because they have rubber/plastic washers included (and has better temps) but I am reserving that as a last resort

I checked the installation manual of the Cooler Master Hyper 212X and it does not come with washers. It mentions that the back-plate used for installing on socket LGA1155 has insulation tape which you should not peel off. The metal back-plate may be touching some copper contacts or circuitry on the motherboard PCB so the insulation tape is there to prevent a short circuit. Do you remember if you removed the insulation tape?

Most likely (and I'm just guessing) is that the CPU cooler was tightened too much and you may have depressed the CPU too deep on the socket and bending some pins in the process. The other thing I can think of is the tightening of screws on each corner was uneven which does the same thing and puts pressure on the CPU at an angle, bending some pins on one side of the socket.

Alternatively if there was a small SMD chip, resistor, capacitor on the bottom of the motherboard that was touching the back-plate it may have been crushed by the over-tightening of screws. Many CPU coolers fail to mention this but you also have to inspect the bottom of the motherboard for tiny components that might get touched or crushed by the back-plate.

Let's hope that the distro offers you a replacement motherboard and no damage was done to the CPU :-)

Personally I don't think rubber grommets or washers will solve the issue of over tightening the screws on a CPU cooler. I would recommend you get a CPU cooler that has a better retention mechanism which somehow prevents over-tightening of the CPU cooler. The Noctua NH-U12S should be a good CPU cooler for you and the back-plate is secured with spacers. Also the spring mechanism is supposed to give way when the screws are over tightened but I don't know if this is true.

Rule of thumb when applying pressure or torque to the screws of a CPU cooler: Make sure you tighten the screws with enough pressure that you can still un-screw them just using your thumb and fore-finger holding the screw-driver. If you are using a full hand grip on the screw-driver to tighten the screws then you are applying too much force :-)
