how to set up strong internet connection

  • ano pong maganda bilhin/ ipainstall/ applyan na internet connection para sa bussiness. na kayang mag accomodate ng 10 or more user every hour?
    salamat po!
  • for a internet conenction to be usable at least for each user simultaneously using the internet connection, you need at least 2mbps (mbit/sec) bandwidth download and around 400kbps (kbit/sec) on the upload side.

so all you have to do is math that out to 10 users and you have your minimum required bandwidth, of course you have to avail the unli/uncap data plans.

for the router, you need a router that can spread the bandwidth equally, so get a router that support QoS or Bandwidth limiter. I cant really recommend a router for you, so just ask someone who can do that for you and possible configured that as well.

so for business plan, get a at least 50mbps since thats the minimum speed you can get on a business plan (not unless your area is still using the old ADSL infrastucture, get at least a VDSL2 capable line or if possible a FIber connection).

For ISP of choice, its up to you, if I were to choose, PLDT is probably the best choice (as of now) for business plan subscribers, they have your line in priority in case that your having trouble using your internet connection, matagal na ata 1day bago dumating yung technician, fastest is same day depending on what time you called for tech support. You can also go with Globe but that thing have data caps on their plans regardless if your residential or business plan, they were saying its unlimited, but in reality its not really, we have a Globe as our backup here but heck if we use that line as our main, wala pang isang buwan throttled na yung connection namin. As for Converge, avoid that as much as possible, their technical support is subpar, their technician is so slooooow, even if the technician comes, parang walang alam, I can assume that they used the same people that visit in residential subs, they take forever for technician to see the problem even on a corporate account, that's why we ditched them and go with Globe instead.
  • mas malakas po ba kung corpo gagamitin para sa internet?
  • You need at least two ISPs. One acting as a main ISP, the other either load balancing, or fall back. If you really value 'uptime'. You'd also need a router with fall back or load balancing features that will quickly switch over client to the 'up' connection when the main one goes down, or balance the load for specific traffic.
  • well relying on wireless internet as your main line connection is a very bad idea, one main reason is its slow and unreliable, afaik corporate sims only allow you to use it on mobile phones, if you use it as your main gateway, the possibility is that theyll temporarily block your sim or slow it down on Smart while Globe can slow it down for the entire day to 256kbps (still depending on area, some area do this some dont).

having a physical dedicated line (except cable internet like skycable) is much more reliable in terms of speed and line integrity. Kung wala man DSL or Fiber sa area mo, move to another place na meron, theres no reason to stay on a place that have no facility specially if your business relies to the internet.
  • ^ as much as possible, use wired connection instead of wireless access. for some unknown reasons, minsan kahit ok ang main connections mo from the ISP ay may lag or disconnection ng wireless access points. sabi ng tech namin may kinalaman daw sa interference ng mga laptops, cellphones, etc. sa office premises.
  • kahit average speed lang sa mga wireless mga boss sana, wala pa talagang fiber dito.
    sayang naman.
  • well, for business use, we highly discourage wireless internet connection at all cost.

but if you want to risk it, you more welcome to do so, just dont say we didnt warn you about the complications of wireless internet.
