  • ^Yes. Since water + all sorts of dirt = algae (lumot) . Palinis mo na yan AC mo. The cleaner will flush out the dirt from your unit and inner part of those tubes using their pressurized washer. So condensate can flow out normally from your aircon. Ask the cleaner if they can clean the outer part of the tubes. Abutan mo na lang cguro. Or you can wash those using water hose. Then clean your surroundings too and avoid standstill water (mixed with soil) buildup from infiltrating your drainpipes.

In copper lines/refrigerant tubes? Not actually. That means the pipes are meeting the atmosphere—meaning it is pooooorly insulated. Condensate should never form on those areas, you need to have that reworked. I'm prolly guessing based on the diameter of those lines, they didn't even bother putting EVA foam tubes.

    Maraming salamat mga sir.

Meron na ako for schedule mamayang umaga at kausapin ko sila about copper lines/refrigerant tubes.

More than 30 mins lang ata ung nangyari.

  • Goodmorning :) need your insights mga sir

4 years old LG 2.0 HP inverter split AC. This problem started bago ako magpalinis ng AC months ago.

Nag a ice po ang indoor unit if 24 degrees na ang room temperature (i read my room temperature using a xiaomi air purifier and wall thermometer). I also use a wattmeter. If kaka on lang ac and talagang mainit it runs at its full 2000 watts para mapalamig ang room, during this period walang ice nafoform, as in parang normal lang. Pero after an hour and a half and papalapit na sa 24 degrees ang room temp, start na mag throttle down ang compressor. This is where the problem starts. When wattmeter reads 1000-1200 watts and 25 degrees na room temp ice begins to form sa condenser unit. May slight fix ako dito. I use the "WATT OPTION" button sa remote to dictate the compressor na ang maximum power lang na pwede sya magfunction is 60% capacity, wattage reading sa watt meter drops to 600 to 800 watts, then the icing on the indoor unit slowly stops. A quick fix tho not ideal dahil hilaw na lamig nya and matagal maabot 24c. Kinda hassle kasi need pa manually iset na gano everytime i use it.

Bagong linis narin po pala ang AC, replaced na ni tech ang R410a (refrigerant was weighed) and navacuum pump narin. To sum it up, bakit sya nag a ice when the room temp is almost 24 degrees c na?

-- edited by Adventure on Sep 14 2020, 03:46 PM
  • @phobia

Pati yung technician ko sir baffled and first encounter niya na ganitong case.

How bout keeping the fan speed at max if may ice formation pa din?
  • @lynkchiz,

Baka barado yang unit mo. You may want to check if any of our similar experiences / solutions help:

    1. Detailed & meticuluous cleaning of @statix and my unit wherein they take apart the indoor & outdoor unit for thorough cleaning. It's illustrated in the new DC inverter thread. Sa post ni @statix naka detalye how the cleaners remove even the drain pan to make sure there ain't any dirt that's stuck up in the unit. This is more of proactive maintenance but perhaps this can solve minor clogging.

    2. One moderator posted (in the 400+ pages old DC inverter topic) that his kolin AC na mahina buga ng hangin. It might be different manifestations sa kanya, BUT baka same solution to your situation.

    NormanABates wrote:

napa ayos ko na ang Kolin ko. i have to join this FB group para madami choices: Inverter Aircon Technician

This is what the technician did:

Technician 1: Nilinis nya aircon. usual na linis using pressurized washer. mga 45mins to 1hr siguro. when we put the unit back, sabi ko same paren, walang effect. He then called a backup and told me to wait for his companion(the main technician).

Technician 2: Sir, ano pinalitan dito dati?
    Me: Fan Capacitor.
Tech2: Tested it. 4.5v is reading 2.9 only. Sir, mahina na, palitan na natin.
    Me: ok,
Tech1 and Tech2 went out to look for a 4.5v capacitor. after around 30mins, they came back with a new capacitor, smaller but same capacity na 4.5v

they put the capacitor and tested it. still the same! sobra hina ng buga. He then removed the top cover, lumakas yung buga! Then put it back, hina nanaman. Thats when he told me, madami na stucked na alikabok sa front radiator.

Tech2: Sir, linisin ulet namin. Bili ka Liquid Sosa.

Tech1 and Tech2 cleaned it again using liquid sosa mixed with joy dishwashing liquid. Maayos at halatang di nagmamadali si Tech2. Lahat ng fins, dinadaanan nya mabuti. After around 1 & 1/2 hour, done na sila.

Bale eto ang ginawa: Deep cleaning using Liquid Sosa to remove stucked dirt sa radiator and changed the Fan Capacitor.

Name ng aircon Technician: Kuya A/C - Aircon Services.

    Fee: 700 cleaning + 1.8k capacitor(3mos warranty) = 2.5k

    pull down na next option.

That solved my sisters panasonic st inverter na nagyeyelo din coz of stucked up dirt. May kamahalan yan, costs nito is P3,000 sa kakilala lang nila technician. I was quoted P8,000 by authorized Daikin service dealer for that.

In any case, suggest you get 2nd opinion from other techs.

hi sir yes triny na naka max fan speed. same parin nag a ice pero kaya nga sa post ni statix medyo mahina na buga compared sa nung brand new siya. kaya need na siguro ipull down para ma general cleaning.

hi sir musicgeek di ko na kinopy paste buo pinost mo at baka mapuno po thread hehe, anyway sir salamat sa very informative na post, very important information na baka nga need na ng thorough cleaning, humina na nga buga niya compared nung sa brand new pa siya 4 years ago. siguro mga 1/3 ang nabawas sa lakas ng hangin ng buga niya sa MAX speed compared nung brand new siya (bago narin pala indoor fan motor nito, tinatry ko lang irule out noon kaya napabili ako),..

Hmm ano pa kaya ang puwedeng rason? how much is too much na refrigerant? kasi if 120psi ang refrigerant niya ngayon baka puwedeng sobrahan ng kaunti like 130psi? para sure lang na tumaas ang saturation point niya which is above 0 Degrees C ( zero degrees celscius). any opinions mga sir?
  • ^If I were you, first order should be to search for an expert technician. One thing I've learned in this forum's not to confine ourselves with traditional techs as they offer limited solutions. It's best to find repairsmen who can think out of the box like moderator NormanABates case. Try mo JDL Electronics. They have a Youtube channel and looks to be they're very knowledgeable in AC servicing.
  • @lynkchiz
nung nagyelo yung split type ac namin, because of two reasons lang, kulang refrigerant and madumi yung ac. since verified na hindi kulang yung refrigerant then tingin ko marumi yung indoor unit niyan.

our ac is used 24/7 and we have pull down cleaning at least 2x a year. hindi na kami nagpapalinis ng hindi pull down since hindi malinis ng maayos.
  • sir frequenzy,
thanks for sharing. dahil nga ngayong pandemic 24/7 narin sir si AC. baka nga hindi na malinis ng husto ang indoor unit kaya ganito nag yeyelo na. confirmed narin na walang leaks and properly weighed ang refrigerant yet the problem persists. sa 4 years na buhay nito never pa na pull down. mukhang ito na nga ang solution. wish me luck! ipapapull down ko na ito sa weekend. thanks all sa insights niyo :) mabuhay po tayong lahat
  • @lynkchiz
Thanks
  • Good day mga sirs, may issue po yung Panasonic Inverters namin.

We have the Elite Inverter Sky Series 2.0 HP.

  • @jelome
bumubukas ba ulit yung AC kapag uminit na?
  • @frequenzy
ITry namin ulit. Siguro 15min+ yung sakin hindi na bumukas. Pero itsek ulit namin

    EDIT:
Bago palang po aircon. First few days ok siya, pag naka auto, directo muna then pag lumamig lilipat sa radiant. After that bigla nalang nagkaganyan

  • ^
we have an 1yr old pana split din kasi, kapag nakaauto at nareach yung target temp, mamatay yung blower. pero kapag mainit na nag on ulit yung blower
  • ^Ok salamat.

This is so since kung i-on ko siya minsan ng nasa auto, ayaw niya mag-on. Gumagalaw yung flaps, pero hindi nag-on yung aircon mismo. Leds are on. Setting fan speeds to quiet, saka ibang speeds fixed the issue. Auto lang talaga siya sira.

Meron po bang fix dito? Ok nako sa workaround, pero sayang kasi yung feature na pag nareach na yung desired temp lilipat siya sa radiant cooling, which worked for the first few days...

hindi sira yan paps, that's how your AC's AUTO mode works. ganyan din reklamo ng tita ko sa panasonic nya, nagigising sya na mainit bigla yun room. setting the fan to MANUAL speeds ang work around talaga.
  • Ok boss so ganito pala. Pero bakit first few days wala naman yung issue? Saka yun yung main feature niya, pag nareach desired temp, lumilipat siya sa radiant cooling (umaakyat yung flaps). Works well then bigla nalang nagkaganun?
  • hi, brand new yung aircon ko, nung tinanggal ko sa kinalalagayn kase iuwi sa probinsya, may tubig pala at natapos sa loob, hanggang ngayon, di ko pa nabubuksan kase pahinga at linis linis sa bahay, ano kaya problem nun nun kung sakali, almost more than 1 week na
