My fellow iPod video users, iPod 5th gen and onwards, i would like to share my tested process when your iPod is behaving not normal as it should. Or want to make sure that your iPod HDD is not creating unneccessary files.
To do this, Backup your files first!
For users in Win XP, Win Vista, Win 7.
Enable View Hidden Files in Folder Options.
With the iPod plugged in, go to Windows Explorer, select then right click your iPod icon, select Open
Once inside your iPod, locate the iPod Control/Music Folder
Once inside the Music folder, you must be able to see folders with names like F01 and so on.
On the Search bar on the upper right, type *.mp3
It will list all mp3 files from all the folders
The same applies for typing *.mp4, it will display mp4 video files.
Then highlight all of these files, right click Cut then paste the selected files to the designated backup location (might be useful having a external drive or a spare folder created in your local drive for backing up these files especially the video files might be large.)
Format your iPod HDD
With your iPod plugged in, open Windows Explorer.
In the left pane, select your iPod icon, then right click Format.
In the Format window, look for File System.
Select ex-FAT (assuming you\'re using Windows OS for managing your iPods music and videos)
Look for File allocation size.
Select 32 kilobytes. (NEVER USE 64 kilobytes! this will affect drive performance)
Check QuickFormat if you want faster process, but for those who have time to wait, uncheck QuickFormat.
Click Start to initiate the format process.
Once Format is done, you can start restoring (flashing) your iPods\' OS by using iTunes.
Make sure you have the latest version of iTunes. (I\'m using 10.7)
Once iTunes is done restoring (flashing), your iPod will restart and iTunes will connect to your ipod. For better management, select Manually manage music and videos.
For better performance, i would recommend not to include album art. This will affect read time of the music file and as time goes, the image file doesnt get synced to the right music file it belongs and will take up space on your drive.

good pm...i restored my iPod 4th gen..(actually the ipod+hp model) then nanghihingi ng wall charger para mag resume yung restore...anyone knows kung san makakabili ng wall charger? or if may workaround for it? tried new iPod chargers yaw pa in pati yung sa usb port trick...

Ask ko lang po, recommended pa po ba bumili ng 2nd hand na ipod Classic? Nawala kasi yung Nano 4th gen ko. Gusto ko sana bumili uli for movie and music ko.
Hindi po ba madali masira ang Classic since yung hard drive nya is needle? -
Hi! Ask ko lang if may alam kayong repair shop for Ipod Classic (160gb). Mukhang nasira na naman un hard drive ng ipod ko kasi apple logo lang kasi lumalabas sa screen. Salamat! :)

Hi guys, patulong naman yung iPod Nano 7th Gen ko kapag nakasaksak sa USB Charger or Laptop restart lang ng restart nalabas yung Apple Logo paulit ulit. Nalalagay ko siya sa Disk mode pero Once na restore ganun padin, and ayaw din mag-open ang power dapat nakasaksak lang sa USB source per yun nga restart lang ng restart.
Dead Battery na kaya to pero bakit kahit sa Home screen di nalabas.. -

is it worth it pa ba na bumili ng 2nd hand ipod classic/video just for media player only? i have xperia Z1 mobile phone, pero madali na syan ma-lowbat pag games and movies. sa mp3 naman, konte lang nailagay ko saka 8gb lang sdcard ko. or should i buy 32gb sdcard instead ipod classic 30gb? mga 2-3k na lang kasi ngayon ipods eh... tia -
discontinued na ipod classic bro, pero meron pa ko, wala lan andun lahat ng mp3 ko, 90gb kse mp3 ko kaya nag decide ako na kumuha ng classic, minsan masaya pa din sya gamitin, ehehehehe vintage feel simple lang gamitin wala syadong arte

Ang ginawa ko naman is kinabit ko sa ibang apple charger, sa charger ng ipad 1 kasi same sila ng port. Ayun lumabas na ung batt animation.
