  • Guys, puwede bang i-update yung Bayan ZTE ZXHN H108N firmware?

    I tried the following steps:

    1. Download latest compatible OpenWrt from <click here for link>

    2. Turn off modem.

    3. Press "reset" and keeping it pressed, turn on the router.

    4. Wait 20 seconds and then release "reset" button.

    5. Browse to "192.168.1.1"

    6. Select the previously downloaded image and press "upgrade".

    7. Power led will flash from green to red (aprox 2 minutes) and finally stays orange.

    8. Once it finishes, OpenWRT will be installed.

    IPv4 Connectivity: No Internet Access
    IPv6 Connectivity:. No Internet Access
ZXHN H108N V2.5 po ung modem namin. Salamat po.
  • May topak ba bayan dsl ngayon?

  • Speed test ng BayanTel 1299 hehehe
  • Hi good day. Feeling ko bababa ng 256kbps like yung other globe plans nila. Meron po ba naka-ganung plan dito? Thanks!

    TIA
  • pag 1200 inapply mo nsa 256kbps; pero pag 1700 mas mataas dyan... yun yung sabi sakin... not sure kasi 3mbps unli plan ako e.
  • @boweng
Old plan nila yun. sa pagkakaalam ko hindi na pwede yun since lahat ng plans ng bayandsl ngayon is capped and ang maximum speed lang ng bayandsl ngayon is 5mbp/s na 1199 nila.
  • tengeneng bagaltel 'to o. eto ayoko sa kanila pag tag-ulan. lagi dc hehehe
  • @bahhanery93

I'm also a bayantel customer since 2009 plan 999 1mbps. The reason why i like this plan was because of its unlimited data, there were months i had left my laptop on for months and downloaded 250GB worth of movies, etc without any problems. A few months back, when they had to take down their old pppoe servers and they moved my node to a dhcp server (cost cutting due to globe takeover). It wasnt the same as my 1mpbs line. The field tech advised me to check out there new plan 1199 for old subscribers which he recommended, however there is bandwidth cap of 100GB/month, from my experience once you reach the cap, your speed will downgrade to 3mpbs, then if you reach another 50GB cap, your speed will down to 1mpbs, then if another 50GB is reached, your last connection speed is 256kbps. Your connection will revert back to 5mpbs at exactly 12mn on the 1st day of the month. I have never reached getting to 256kbps. From the field tech's perspective, Bayantel employees are still committed to providing good internet to their customers. They really don't want to move their customers to Globe. There is an internal issue that they are not getting along since the take over. Love 'em or hate 'em, its truly sad that Bayantel had to give up and be subsidized.

  • @STASIS

Try checking your termination box kung luma na or nakabukas, also check mo yung isa pang termination box sa poste sa mismong kinakabitan ng linya mo, check kung nakabukas. Minsan kc nakakalimutan ng field tech isara and nababasa. I had this experience before (a long time ago) and i called the old school bayantel hotline to get everything checked. Not to get into technicalities but minsan sa street crossover box ang problema and minsan sa main cabinet, you're limited to what you can, so just called their hotline and have their tech check your lines. Try not getting mad right away when explaining your concerns, calmly explaining your problems with clarity can actually help expedite the resolution of any issue. If they dont address your problem and 3 days have passed, then you have the inclination to get upset. :)

Walang direct upgrade from bayantel to globe.

Papaputol mo muna yang bayantel mo then re-apply sa globe with new set installation fees etc..

pwede naman pero mawawala yung adsl2+ functionality nyan, since bcm63xx chipset on openwrt doesnt support the ADSL functionality due to closed sourced driver.

if you installed it, it will function as a wifi router, with one of the lan port transform as a wan port. or you can use that as a repeater if you want to, since naka openwrt naman na.

Kaka-dagdag lang ng globe box malapit samin, medyo hesistant ako mag-upgrade kasi additional 2 years re-contract as per CS. Sayang ang no-capped plans despite slower.
  • @gaLj

Nag sign lang ako ng contract renewal and ayun good to go na. From my experience kc, every 19th or 24th ng month narereach ko yung 150gb cap, tapos throttle down na yung speed from 15mbps to 3-4mbps.

  • So its been week and I still dont have internet, I called the hotline several times and this is the worst experience I have had with BayanTel(Globe). The customer REP told me that they dont have an ETR on the issue. So on my way home, in a drastic need of an internet connection, I tried asking a skycable installer that was passing by in my area, to my surprise they said that they can connect me right away (with an upfront cash of course). Its 2k installation with 1 month advance on the plan. So I decided to give it a shot. I got SkyCable installed and see what is the fuss is all about. The field tech told me that our node is part of sky's new fiber loop. Below are my results.

I'm totally surprise with the ping latency and the speed. I have now decided to discontinue my GlobeByan subscription and stay with sky.

  • sir @drakewakefield

san area nyo sir, dito samin sa visayas ave. almost 1 week narin walang net, nasunog daw yung main box ng globe
  • @oreotm10

Yup, I am near your service area din. Actually I just hung up with a technical rep and the outage is still ongoing, so I'm planning to call the disconnection department sa Globe 730-3010 and will tell them to disconnect my DSL service, i have to wait until they restore my DSL so I can file a report on the outage. Until now, blinking pa rin ang DSL light ko sa modem, I'm currently enjoying SkyCable and so far I'm really impressed with the latency talaga. I was expecting high latency 400ms> but to my surprise even at late night and morning, it can reach <8ms. I already moved my router to my SkyCable Modem and manually routed my dns, this made everything even better. The security feature and QoS feature on the technicolor TC7200 is not that robust, so I bridged it and used my own.
